Abstract
In general, this study analyzes teacher competency development which is the main problem in efforts to improve the quality of vocational high school education. This study aims to analyze the role of need for achievement and knowledge sharing in the influence of professional commitment to competency development. The population of this study were productive teachers of State Vocational High Schools in South Tangerang City, with a total sample of 141 productive teachers. Methods of data analysis using the Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square (SEMPLS). The results of the study found that professional commitment had no effect on competency development. Commitment to the profession has a positive and significant effect on the need for achievement. Need for achievement has a positive and significant effect on competency development. The need for achievement is able to fully mediate the influence of professional commitment to competency development. Knowledge sharing has a positive and significant effect on competency development. Knowledge sharing has a positive and significant effect on competency development. Sharing of knowledge is able to fully mediate the influence of professional commitment to competency development. Secara umum, studi ini menganalisis tentang pengembangan kompetensi guru yang menjadi persoalan utama dalm upaya peningkatan mutu pendidikan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran kebutuhan berprestasi dan berbagi pengetahuan dalam pengaruh komitmen profesi terhadap pengembangan kompetensi. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah guru produktif Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri di wilayah Kota Tangerang Selatan, dengan jumlah sampel 141 guru produktif. Metode analisis data menggunakan Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa komitmen profesi tidak berpengaruh terhadap pengembangan kompetensi. Komitmen profesi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kebutuhan berprestasi. Kebutuhan berprestasi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pengembangan kompetensi. Kebutuhan berprestasi mampu memediasi secara penuh pengaruh komitmen profesi terhadap pengembangan kompetensi. Berbagi pengetahuan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pengembangan kompetensi. Berbagi pengetahuan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pengembangan kompetensi. Berbagi pengetahuan mampu memediasi secara penuh pengaruh komitmen profesi terhadap pengembangan kompetensi.
