Abstract

To get clean and healthy facial skin, we as women can actually avoid products that contain harmful chemicals. One of them is by utilizing plants and natural materials that are around us. However, because it will reduce women's knowledge of this information, appropriate media dissemination is needed, one of which is Books. "Natural Ways to Get Healthy Skin" is one of the beauty books that uses illustrations as a message delivery strategy and also as a visual appeal to increase reading interest for an audience, especially young women. The visuals discussed in the book not only contain illustrations, but also the layout and colors included as visual elements. An interesting visualization in a book will be very interesting for people's interest to read. Seeing the important visual elements in a book, researchers are interested in further researching on illustrations and also other design elements related to the book on beauty and facial skin care, entitled "Natural Ways to Get Healthy Skin". Untuk mendapatkan kulit wajah yang bersih dan sehat, kita sebagai perempuan sebenarnya dapat menjauhi produk yang mengandung bahan - bahan kimia berbahaya. Salah satunya dengan memanfaatkan tumbuhan dan bahan - bahan alami yang ada disekitar kita. Akan tetapi, karena kurangnya pengetahuan para perempuan akan informasi tersebut maka diperlukan media penyebarluasan yang tepat, salah satunya adalah Buku. “The Natural Ways to Get Healthy Skin” adalah salah satu buku kecantikan yang menggunakan ilustrasi sebagai strategi penyampaian pesan dan juga sebagai daya tarik visual untuk meningkatkan minat membaca bagi para audience, khususnya para remaja perempuan. Visual yang dimaksud dalam buku tidak hanya berupa ilustrasi, namun juga layout dan warna termasuk sebagai elemen visual. Visualisasi yang menarik dalam sebuah buku akan sangat berpengaruh kepada ketertarikan masyarakat untuk membaca. Melihat pentingnya elemen-elemen visual dalam sebuah buku, maka peneliti tertarik untuk meriset lebih jauh mengenai ilustrasi dan juga elemen-elemen desain lainnya yang terdapat dalam buku bertema kecantikan dan perawatan kulit wajah yang berjudul “The Natural Ways to Get Healthy Skin”.
