Abstract

Tourism has the potential to develop more rapidly and make a very large contribution to regional and national development. Therefore, it is necessary to increase wider promotions to introduce tourism in Indonesia. Religious tourism is one of the developing tourism potentials and is nothing new in the tourism industry. Ampel is one of the areas in the northern part of the city of Surabaya where the majority of the population are ethnic Arabs. the Ampel area is known by the general public as the point of spread of Islam in Java by Walisongo. The General Spatial Plan (RUTR) for the City of Surabaya states that the Ampel area will be developed as a tourist area to accommodate worship activities, culinary tourism, trade, religious tourism, to bookkeeping, as well as being a place for multi-ethnic community life. The Ampel area will also be developed as a religious tourism area that is organized and accommodates parking needs and street vendors. At present, the Ampel area is no longer just a local religious tour in Surabaya, but the Ampel area is already known nationally. So that the Ampel area needs support from the local government and local residents to develop ideas or designs for the Ampel area that has a comfortable tourist arrangement and can be in demand by both local and national. The concept of Neo-Vernacular architecture is an architectural work that attracts people's interest in knowing and learning something traditional but still abreast of developments in the modern era. The Neo-Vernacular principle provides a new nuance for society, especially youth, to revive existing local traditional and cultural values. Keywords: Religious Tourism, Ampel, Neo Vernacular Architecture Pariwisata memiliki potensi untuk bekembang lebih pesat dan memberikan sumbangan yang sangat besar kepada pembangunan daerah maupun nasional. Oleh karena itu, perlu ditingkatkan promosi-promosi yang lebih luas untuk memperkenalkan pariwisata yang ada di Indonesia. Wisata religi merupakan salah satu potensi wisata yang sedang berkembang dan bukanlah hal baru dalam industry pariwisata. Ampel merupakan salah satu kawasan yang berada pada bagian utara kota Surabaya di mana mayoritas penduduknya merupakan etnis arab. kawasan Ampel dikenal oleh masyarakat umum sebagai daerah titik persebaran Islam di Jawa oleh Walisongo. Rencana Umum Tata Ruang (RUTR) Kota Surabaya menyebutkan bahwa kawasan Ampel termasuk wilayah yang akan dikembangkan sebagai kawasan wisata menampung kegiatan ibadah, wisata kuliner, perdagangan, wisata religi, sampai perbukuan, juga menjadi tempat tinggal kehidupan masyarakat multietnis. Kawasan Ampel juga akan dikembangkan sebagai wilayah wisata religi yang tertata dan mengakomodir kebutuhan parkir dan PKL. Saat ini, kawasan Ampel bukan lagi menjadi wisata religi lokal di Surabaya saja, melaikan kawasan Ampel sudah dikenal secara nasional. Sehingga membuat kawasan Ampel ini perlu adanya dukungan dari pemerintah daerah dan warga setempat untuk mengembangkan gagasan ide atau desain kawasan Ampel yang memiliki penataan wisata yang nyaman dan dapat diminati oleh lokal maupun nasional. Konsep arsitektur Neo-Vernakular merupakan sebuah karya arsitektur yang menarik minat masyarakat untuk mengenal dan mempelajari sesuatu yang tradisional namun tetap mengikuti perkembangan zaman di era modern. Prinsip Neo-Vernakular memberikan nuansa baru untuk masyarakat terutamanya pemuda untuk mengangkat kembali nilai-nilai tradisi dan budaya lokal yang ada.
