Abstract

ABSTRAK Para pengguna media sosial di dominasi oleh kawula muda yang ingin meperlihatkan aktivitas mereka di media sosial sehingga mereka mendapatkan suatu penilaian dari orang lain. Suatu bentuk penilaian dari orang lain ini dapat menjadi pembentukan citra diri terutama pada diri kawula muda. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat bagaimana pencitraan diri kawula muda di Komplek Polri Munjul Baru, Jakarta Timur ketika menggunakan Instagram. Di dukung dengan teori Image atau citra oleh Frank Jefkins. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif yang di dalam nya peneliti menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi sebagai pengumpulan data nya. Peneliti melakukan observasi dan wawancara terhadap empat kawula muda yang memiliki >1000 followers dan tinggal di Komplek Polri Munjul Baru, Jakarta Timur. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa image atau citra diri yang dilakukan oleh para kawula muda perlu dilakukan supaya citra diri kawula muda ini mampu dianggap positif atau baik oleh para followers nya. Kata Kunci: Image (Citra), kawula muda, Instagram, citra diri. ABSTRAC Social media users are dominated by young people who want to show their activities on social media so that they get an assessment from other people. A form of evaluation from other people can be the formation of selfimage, especially in young people. The purpose of this study is to see how young people in the Munjul Baru Police Complex, East Jakarta, use Instagram to self-image. Supported by the theory of Image or image by Frank Jefkins. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods in which the researcher uses interviews, observation, and documentation as the data collection. Researchers conducted observations and interviews with four young people who had >1,000 followers and lived at the Munjul Baru Police Complex, East Jakarta. The results of this study indicate that the image or self-image carried out by young people needs to be done so that the self-image of these young people can be considered positive or good by their followers.
