Abstract

Batik in Indonesia is very diverse in every region ranging from motifs, ways to make batik, patterns and coloring. However, there are still many Indonesian people who still do not know the variety of batik. Sumatra Island also has batik, one of which is the Minangkabau area, West Sumatra. Therefore, this Muslim dress was made as a container for the application of Tanah Liek batik motifs originating from West Sumatra. Aims to introduce Tanah Liek batik to the wider community. The embodiment technique and the whole work uses screen printing techniques for batik motifs while the fabric pattern uses the basic long shirt pattern and the embodiment of the gown works using machine sewing techniques. Through the creation of this work it is expected to make a useful contribution to the development of the fashion world, especially in batik motifs. And provide information to the public about one of the batik motifs from the island of West Sumatra. Keywords: Dresses, Batik Tanah Liek, screen printing Batik di Indonesia sangat beragam disetiap daerah mulai dari motif, cara membatik, pola dan pewarnaan. Namun, masih banyak masyarakat Indonesia yang masih belum mengetahui ragam batik tersebut. Pulau Sumatra juga memiliki batik salah satunya daerah Minangkabau, Sumatra Barat. Oleh karena itu, dibuatlah Gaun muslimah ini sebagai wadah penerapan motif batik Tanah Liek yang berasal dari Sumatra Barat. Bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan batik Tanah Liek kepada Masyarakat luas. Teknik perwujudan dan karya keseluruhan menggunakan tenik sablon untuk motif batik sementara pola kain menggunakan pola dasar baju panjang serta proses perwujudan karya gaun menggunakan teknik jahit mesin. Melalui penciptaan karya ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi yang bermanfaat terhadap perkembangan dunia fashion terutama pada motif batik. Serta memberikan informasi kepada masyarakat mengenai salah satu motif batik dari pulau Sumatra Barat. Kata Kunci : Gaun, Batik Tanah Liek, sablon.
