Abstract

In the era of globalization, we can get news or information easily. News has become a very important need for today's society. Currently, online media is one of the media that plays arole in distributing news or information to a wide audience. However, the news presented in online media has one weakness, namely that many reporters on online media often make mistakes or do not pay attention to important things in a news. This study aims to measure the feasibility of news articles in orangemagz.com which are assessed based on news elements (5W+1H) and the Journalistic Code of Ethics, where the assessment is carried out by coders. This study discusses the feasibility of soft news news in the online news portal Orangemagz.com. Soft news news is supporting news that focuses on displaying news on the interesting side or unique things of an event. In this study, researchers used the Dependency Theory of Mass Communication Effects. This research uses quantitative research method with content analysis approach . While the population in this study used news articles from the online portal orangemagz.com for the January 2021 period with a total of 63 articles. Meanwhile, the sample was taken using the Suharsimi Arikunto formula, which is 15% of the total population, which is 10 news stories. The results of this study indicate that the news in the articles presented by the online portal orangemagz.com is more likely to have not fulfilled the news element (5W+1H) and the news in the article also tends to have not applied the Journalistic Code of Ethics. With this research, it is hoped that orangemagz.com reporters will be more thorough in presenting a news story. Berita sudah menjadi kebutuhan yang sangat penting bagi masyarakat saat ini. Saat ini media online merupakan salah satu media yang berperan dalam pendistribusian berita atau informasikepada khalayak luas. Namun, berita yang disajikan dalam media online memiliki salah satu kelemahan yakni banyak reporter pada media online yang seringkali membuat kekeliruan atautidak memperhatikan hal penting dalam suatu berita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukurkelayakan artikel berita dalam orangemagz.com yang dinilai berdasarkan unsur berita (5W+1H) dan Kode Etik Jurnalistik, dimana penilaian dilakukan oleh para coder. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai kelayakan berita soft news dalam portal berita online Orangemagz.com. Berita soft news merupakan berita pendukung yang memfokuskan untuk menampilkan berita pada sisi menarik atau hal unik dari sebuah peristiwa.Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan Teori Dependensi Efek Komunikasi Massa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan analisis isi . Sedangkan populasi dalam penelitian ini menggunakan artikel berita dari portal online orangemagz.com periode Januari 2021 dengan jumlah 63 artikel. Sementara itu sampelnya diambil menggunakan rumus Suharsimi Arikunto yaitu 15% dari jumlah populasi yakni 10 berita. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberitaan pada artikel yang disajikan portalonline orangemagz.com lebih cenderung belum memenuhi unsur berita (5W+1H) dan pemberitaan pada artikel tersebut juga cenderung belum menerapkan Kode Etik Jurnalistik. Dengan adanya penelitian ini diharapkan para reporter orangemagz.com lebih teliti dalam menyajikan sebuah berita.
