Abstract

The urgency of lifestyle and the need for housing at this time for the lower middle class society which requires them to live together in a densely populated environment results in a decrease in the quality of social life of the community. The desire to have a decent life with the concept of building its own social and economic environment so that it becomes independent and develops the potential for living in society is one of the focuses for developing cities with independent communities. The formation starts from the home environment with facilities that meet the wishes and needs of its residents. Therefore the solution to environmental, social and economic problems in these flats is to involve the community itself to participate in providing the concept and design of their residence considering their needs and potential. Through this participatory design approach, it is hoped that it can create new growth spaces for the community to improve life in their social, economic and cultural environment which will later form a more advanced and independent community life. Keywords : Simple Flats for Rents, Participatory Design Terdesaknya pola hidup dan kebutuhan akan tempat tinggal saat ini bagi masyarakat menengah kebawah yang mengharuskan untuk hidup bersama dalam lingkungan yang padat penduduk mengakibatkan penurunan kualitas kehidupan sosial masyarakat. Keinginan akan mempunyai kehidupan yang layak dengan konsep membangun lingkungan sosial dan ekonomi sendiri hingga menjadi mandiri dan mengembangkan potensi berkehidupan dalam masyarakat menjadi salah satu fokus untuk meningkatkan kota yang masyarakatnya mandiri. Pembentukan itu dimulai dari lingkungan rumah dengan fasilitas yang memenuhi keinginan dan kebutuhan penghuninya. Oleh karena itu Solusi permasalahan lingkungan, sosial dan ekonomi pada rumah susun ini adalah dengan melibatkan masyarakat itu sendiri untuk berpartisipasi memberikan konsep dan rancangan tempat tinggalnya melihat kebutuhan dan potensi yang dimiliki. Melalui pendekatan participatory design ini diharapkan dapat menciptakan ruang tumbuh baru bagi masyarakat untuk meningkatkan kehidupan di lingkungannya baik sosial, ekonomi dan budaya yang nantinya akan membentuk kehidupan masyarakat yang lebih maju dan mandiri.
