Abstract

Ready-to-wear dresses on the market generally have a standard size, which is above 160 cm and in accordance with ideal body proportions (weight according to height). This condition is an obstacle for women who have a height below 160 cm and a weight that is not ideal. The appearance of the standard dress form becomes less suitable for their body shape. Not infrequently they carry out the process of changing the dress which then makes the original dress pattern no longer like the size of the initial pattern and does not give the expected appearance. The results of this product design can provide a solution so that the dress does not need to be varnished and re-stitched again because the dress pattern is in accordance with the standard sizing for women who are under 160 cm tall and weigh size L. In that case, the presence of the right dress pieces and components dresses that support each other present a visual impression that uses looks Keywords: Dress, Paruki Motif, Short Body, Pattern Gaun ready to wear yang ada dipasaran umumnya memiliki ukuran standar yakni di atas 160 cm dan sesuai dengan proporsi tubuh yang ideal (berat badan sesuai tinggi). Kondisi tersebut menjadi kendala bagi wanita yang memiliki ukuran tinggi badan di bawah 160 cm serta berat badan yang tidak ideal. Tampilan bentuk gaun standar tersebut menjadi kurang sesuai bagi bentuk tubuh mereka. Tidak jarang mereka melakukan proses permak gaun yang kemudian membuat pola gaun semula sudah tidak seperti dari ukuran pola awal dan tidak memberikan tampilan yang diharapkan. Hasil dari perancangan produk ini dapat memberikan solusi sehingga gaun tidak perlu divermak dan dijahit ulang lagi karena pola gaun tersebut sudah sesuai dengan standar ukuran wanita yang memiliki tinggi dibawah 160 cm dengan berat badan size L. Dalam hal itu dengan hadirnya potongan gaun yang pas serta komponen gaun yang mendukung satu sama lain menghadirkan kesan visual yang menggunakan terlihat lebih tinggi dan badan yang melebar terlihat lebih kecil.
