Abstract
Lean processes can effectively contribute to achieving high quality, low costs and short lead times in the product development process. A lean process driven by continuous improvement to avoid waste. Lean Product Development (LPD) is a technique of developing products by applying lean techniques and tools to eliminate waste in the product development process (PD) while increasing product value, where product attribute designs are determined and manufactured based on analysis Consumer needs. A lean implementation will have a greater impact on operational performance improvements if the implementation covers both manufacturing and PD. The background to this research is that repeated quality checks on defective products resulting from the production process result in an unattainable Right First Time (RFT), which leads to delays in the production process. This study aims to analyze the factors causing the quality deficiencies in wall paint products as a form of waste and suggests quality improvements through the LPD through Product Control (RFT) approach. The lean techniques and tools used are Value Stream Mapping (VSM) tools that calculate the value of the Value Added Ratio between the current VSM state (86.74%) with the future VSM state (90.61%) with the results of the improvement in the elimination of non-valueadded compare activity in the process of 4.27%. Keywords: Lean Product Development (LPD), Waste, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Right First Time (RFT) Product, Value Added Ratio (VAR) Proses lean bisa efektif dalam mendorong ke arah pencapaian kualitas yang tinggi, biaya yang rendah dan lead time yang pendek pada proses product development. Suatu proses yang lean didorong oleh perbaikan terus menerus untuk menghilangkan waste. Lean Product Development (LPD) adalah suatu teknik untuk mengembangkan produk dngan mengaplikasikan teknik dan tools lean, untuk tujuan mengeliminasi waste yang terdapat pada proses product development (PD) sambil meningkatkan value produk pada waktu yang bersamaan, dengan desain atribut produk ditentukan dan dibuat berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan konsumen. Implementasi lean akan memiliki efek yang lebih besar pada perbaikan kinerja operasional jika implementasi mencakup area manufaktur dan PD. Latar belakang penelitian ini dilakukan karena ada ketidaktercapaian Right First Time (RFT) yang disebabkan oleh pengulangan uji kualitas pada non conformance produk hasil proses produksi, sehingga menyebabkan terhambatnya proses produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis faktor penyebab terjadinya non conformance kualitas pada produk cat tembok sebagai salah satu bentuk waste dan mengusulkan perbaikan kualitas melalui pendekatan LPD melalui kontrol (RFT) produk. Teknik dan tools lean yang digunakan adalah value stream mapping (VSM) tools, yaitu membandingkan nilai Value Added Ratio antara current state VSM (86.74%) terhadap future state VSM (90.61%) dengan hasil perbaikan eliminasi Non Value Added Activity dalam proses sebesar 4.27%.
