Abstract

Indonesia is included in a country classified as a country with a humid tropical climate. This is because all of Indonesia's climate movements are influenced by sunlight, light intensity, air humidity, wind movement, rainfall quantity, and other supporting factors which cause Indonesia to have relatively hot air temperatures and humid air conditions. The existence of climatic conditions like this of course makes the thermal comfort of building users disturbed. Responding to these problems, there is a concept that can be used as a problem-solving solution, namely by applying the concept of Tropical Architecture in every development. By applying this concept, every building design process will consider and adapt the building to the climatic conditions of the construction area and of course the concept of building in this tropical climate area will be different from other areas. The application of the concept of Tropical Architecture in the world of education is also very important to do, because the thermal comfort of students will certainly greatly affect the success of teaching and learning activities. SMAN 70 Jakarta is one of the pilot schools located in the DKI Jakarta area. As a pilot school, it certainly has an impact on increasing the interest of every community to be able to study at SMAN 70 Jakarta. In response to this situation, this research was born and aimed at increasing thermal comfort so that the learning process can run more comfortably and of course by applying the Tropical Architecture approach. Keywords: Tropical Architecture, tropical climate, thermal comfort, school. Indonesia termasuk ke dalam negara yang diklasifikasikan sebagai negara beriklim tropis lembab. Hal itu dikarenakan seluruh pergerakan iklim Indonesia dipengaruhi oleh cahaya matahari, intensitas cahaya, kelembaban udara, pergerakan angin, kuantitas curah hujan, dan faktor pendukung lainnya yang dimana menyebabkan Indonesia memiliki temperatur udara yang relatif panas dan kondisi udara yang lembab. Dengan adanya kondisi iklim seperti ini tentunya membuat kenyamanan termal pengguna bangunan pun terganggu. Menanggapi permasalahan tersebut, terdapat konsep yang dapat dijadikan sebagai solusi pemecahan masalah, yaitu dengan menerapkan konsep Arsitektur Tropis pada setiap pembangunan. Dengan menerapkan konsep ini, setiap proses perancangan bangunan akan mempertimbangkan dan mengadaptasikan bangunan tersebut dengan kondisi iklim daerah pembangunannya dan tentunya konsep bangunan pada daerah iklim tropis ini akan berbeda dengan daerah lainnya. Penerapan konsep Arsitektur Tropis dalam dunia pendidikan juga sangat penting dilakukan, sebab kenyamanan termal siswa tentunya akan sangat berpengaruh terhadap kesuksesan kegiatan belajar mengajar. SMAN 70 Jakarta merupakan salah satu sekolah percontohan yang terletak di wilayah DKI Jakarta. Sebagai sekolah percontohan tentunya memberikan dampak terhadap peningkatan daya minat setiap masyarakat untuk dapat bersekolah di SMAN 70 Jakarta. Menanggapi situasi tersebut, penelitian ini lahir dan ditujukan untuk meningkatkan kenyamanan termal agar proses pembelajaran dapat berjalan lebih nyaman dan tentunya dengan menerapkan pendekatan Arsitektur Tropis.
