Abstract

Kritikan mahasiswa UI dengan menggungah foto Presiden Jokowi disertai mahkota pada akun Instagram BEM UI 2021 @bemui_official melalui media sosial instagram menjadi viral. Peneliti tertarik untuk mendalami makna foto yang diunggah berupa meme dan simbol-simbol yang disertakan. Sehingga peneliti mengambil judul penelitian yaitu MAKNA DIBALIK KRITIK MAHASISWA UI TERHADAP REZIM PENGUASA DI MEDIA SOSIAL: Analisis Semiotika Roland Barthes pada Foto Presiden Jokowi di Instagram BEM UI. Tujuan penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalis penanda dan petanda dibalik kritik mahasiswa UI melalui simbol mahkota yang disematkan kepada foto presiden Jokowi di Instagram BEM UI, dan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis Mitos dibalik kritik mahasiswa UI pada simbol mahkota foto Presiden Jokowi yang diunggah pada Instargarm BEM UI. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan Teori Semiotika Roland Barthes dengan metode pendekatan kualitatif dan menggunakan paradigma kontruktivisme. Paradigma konstruktivisme merupakan konstruksi sosial yang diciptakan oleh individu- individu dalam masyarakat melalui proses pemberian makna pada setiap objek, peristiwa atau fenomena tertentu. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa Universitas Indonesia atau BEM UI memanfaatkan media sosial Instagram sebagai sarana komunikasi yang tepat untuk menyuarakan kritikan kepada pemerintah. Dua Gambar foto Presiden Jokowi yang disematkan mahkota dan diberi tulisan Jokowi The King of Lip Servise bentuk idealisme mahasiswa dalam mengktitik di era demokrasi agar pesan mahasiswa sampai kemasyarakat sebagai kode mengingatkan bahwa a da permasalahan serius yang harus dipikirkan bersama masyarakat Indonesia dan mengawal terus berbagai isu agar ditindaklanjuti oleh pemerintah penguasa. Dua gambar foto Presiden Jokowi yang masuk kategori meme adalah bentuk seni dan kreatifitas yang dalam Semiotika yang mempelajari seni disebut estetika. Dua Gambar foto Presiden Jokowi yang diunggah telah melewati teori etika dan moral karena dalam beretika adalah berpikir dan berprilaku rasional sementara bermoral gambar tersebut tidak melanggar ajaran agama. Researchers are interested in exploring the meaning of uploaded photos in the form of memes and symbols included. So the researchers took the title of the study, namely THE MEANING BEHIND THE CRITICISM OF UI STUDENTS ON THE RULE OF RULE IN SOCIAL MEDIA: Semiotics Analysis of Roland Barthes on President Jokowi's Photo on Instagram BEM UI. The purpose of this research is to identify and analyze the markers and signs behind the criticism of UI students through the crown symbol attached to the photo of President Jokowi on Instagram BEM UI, and to find out and analyze the myths behind the criticism of UI students on the crown symbol of President Jokowi's photo uploaded on Instargarm BEM UI. In this research, the researcher uses Roland Barthes' Semiotic Theory with a qualitative approach and uses the constructivism paradigm. The constructivism paradigm is a social construction created by individuals in society through the process of giving meaning to certain objects, events or phenomena. The conclusion of this study is that the University of Indonesia Student Executive Board or BEM UI uses Instagram as a means of communication to voice criticism to the government. Two pictures of President Jokowi's photo with a crown attached and with the words Jokowi The King of Lip Servise as a form of student idealism in criticizing in the democratic era so that student messages reach the community as a code to remind that there are serious problems that must be considered with the Indonesian people and continue to oversee various issues so that they are followed up by the ruling government. Two photographs of President Jokowi that fall into the meme category are art forms and creativity which in Semiotics which studies art is called aesthetics. The two pictures of President Jokowi that have been uploaded have passed the ethical and moral theory because ethics is thinking and acting rationally while being moral, the images do not violate religious teachings.
