Abstract

Sleman is one of the regencies in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, so it is not surprising that the culture of Sleman Regency is very closely related to the culture of Yogyakarta, but as time goes by, the people of Sleman are starting to leave the culture that is considered ancient. It can be seen from the community, especially children and adolescents who prefer games on mobile phones rather than playing traditional games. Another example is the adult community who began to leave traditional clothes for the more casual ones. So, in order to deal with the decline in cultural interest in the community, Sleman Government plans to create a Cultural Park that can accommodate all the cultural arts in Sleman and has the potential to become a new tourist destination in Sleman Regency. With the creation of a cultural center, it is hoped that the cultural heritages of Sleman can be maintained for future generations Sleman merupakan salah satu kabupaten di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, maka tidak heran jika budaya Kabupaten Sleman indetikal dengan budaya Yogyakarta namun seiring berjalannya zaman masyarakat Sleman mulai meninggalkan budaya yang dianggap kuno. Terlihat dari masyarakat khususnya anak-anak dan remaja yang lebih memilih permainan yang ada pada handphone ketimbang bermain permainan tradisional, contoh lain ialah masyarakat kalangan dewasa yang mulai meninggalkan pakaian tradisional dan lebih memilih pakaian kasual. Maka, guna menanggulani penurunan minat budaya pada masyarakat inilah Pemerintah Sleman membuat sebuah Taman Budaya yang dapat mewadahi segala seni budaya yang ada di Sleman serta berpotensi menjadi tujuan wisata baru yang ada di Kabupaten Sleman. Dengan dibuatkannya sebuah pusat budaya ini diharapkan budaya khas Kabupaten Sleman ini dapat tetap dipertahankan untuk generasi mendatang
