Abstract

The development of mobile games is growing rapidly along with the increasing penetration of the internet and smartphones. Especially countries in Southeast Asia such as Indonesia. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between the intensity of playing Playing PUBG Games with Achievement Motivation (Survey study on students of the Faculty of communication at Universitas Mercu Buana). The method used is quantitative with research subjects as many as 60 respondents, who are students of the Faculty of Communication at Mercu Buana University. Data collection techniques using a Likert scale with data analysis of this study using product moment correlation techniques with SPSS 25.0 software for windows. From the results of this study note that the intensity of playing PUBG games from a sample of 60 respondents had a low level of intensity playing PUBG games by 1 respondent (1.7%), the medium category by 0 respondents (0%), and the high category by 59 respondents (98.3%) . Whereas at the Achievement Motivation level the moderate category was 39 respondents (65%), and the high category was 21 respondents (35%). The correlation between the intensity of the PUBG game with achievement motivation indicated that there was an insignificant relationship rxy = 0.154; sig = 0.239> 0.05) between the intensity of playing PUBG games with Achievement Motivation Thus playing PUBG games has a positive (correlated) relationship. Keywords: Intensity to Play Online Games, Achievement Motivation Perkembangan game mobile semakin pesat seiring dengan meningkatnya penetrasi internet dan smartphone. Khususnya negara-negara di Asia Tenggara seperti Indonesia. Penelitian ini betujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan intensitas bermain Bermain Game PUBG dengan Motivasi Berprestasi (Studi survey pada mahasiswa Fakultas ilmu komunikasi Universitas Mercu Buana). Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 60 responden, yang merupakan Mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Mercu Buana. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan skala likert dengan analisa data penelitian ini menggunakan teknik korelasi product moment dengan perangkat lunak SPSS 25.0 for windows. Dari hasil penelitian ini diketahui bahwa intensitas bermain game PUBG dari sampel 60 responden memiliki tingkat intensitas bermain game PUBG kategori rendah sebanyak 1 responden (1.7%), kategori sedang sebanyak 0 responden (0%), dan kategori tinggi sebanyak 59 responden (98.3%). Sedangkan pada tingkat Motivasi Berprestasi kategori sedang sebanyak 39 responden (65%), dan kategori tinggi sebanyak 21 responden (35%). Korelasi antara intensitas Game PUBG dengan motivasi berprestasi yang ditunjukan terdapat hubungan yang yang tidak signifikan rxy= 0.154 ; sig= 0.239 > 0.05) antara Intensitas bermain game PUBG dengan Motivasi Berprestasi Dengan demikian bermain game PUBG memiliki hubungan (berkolerasi) positif.
