Abstract

In the development of the era, film has always been a medium of mass communication to convey a verbal and non-verbal message. In making the documentary film "Si Pengantar Kabar" the role of the director of photography is to apply the theory and concept of shooting. Imaginary line is an imaginary line that becomes a reference for cameraman in taking an image. In addition, the imaginary line or imaginary line becomes a guide for the cameraman in determining the location of the camera, lighting, composition, artist, angle, camera movement and all technical matters in the camera that are prepared to record scenes with the aim of maintaining continuity, image dynamics, scene details or subjects. shot by the cameraman. In the production of the documentary film "Si Pengantar Kabar" the author as director of photography uses a multicam shooting format or video capture using more than one camera to make it easier during shooting and get the right blocking to get a good frame. Keywords: Documentary Film, Imaginary Line, Director Of Photography Dalam perkembangan zaman film selalu menjadi media komunikasi massa untuk menyampaikan sebuah pesan verbal dan non verbal. Dalam pembuatan film dokumenter “Si Pengantar Kabar” peran director of photography mengaplikasin teori dan konsep pengambilan gambar. Garis Imajiner merupakan garis khayal yang menjadi acuan bagi cameraman dalam mengambil suatu gambar. Selain itu juga garis imajiner atau garis khayal menjadi panduan bagi kameraman dalam menentukan letak kamera, pencahayaan, komposisi, artis, angle, pergerakan kamera dan segala hal teknis dalam kamera yang dipersiapkan untuk merekam adegan dengan tujuan menjaga continuity, dinamika gambar, detail adegan atau subjek shot yang dihasilkan oleh kameraman. Pada produksi film dokumenter “Si Pengantar Kabar” penulis sebagai director of photography menggunakan multicam format shooting atau pengambilan video dengan menggunakan lebih dari satu kamera agar mempermudah pada saat shooting berlangsung dan mendapat blocking yang pas untuk mendapat frame yang baik.
