Abstract

The market is a place to sell and market goods or as a form of shelter for trading activities and also a place for buyers to meet with sellers, where there are goods or services offered for sale and then the transfer of property rights occurs (Ginanjar, Nugraha Jiwapraja, 1980) Solok Raya Market is the main market in Solok City. The market location is quite strategic in the middle of the city, in addition to functioning as an infrastructure to serve the people of Solok City, this market also functions as a shopping center for the Solok, Sawahlunto, and Sijunjung districts. The Solok Raya Market area of Solok is also a place to make a living for 29% of the people of Solok. Thus, the construction and development of Pasar Raya will have various effects on the economic development of Solok City. In this design, the location of the Solok Raya Market area was chosen which is quite strategically located. Where the location of this market area is surrounded by various kinds of facilities. However, for the condition of the Pasar Raya Solok area, it still needs a good arrangement in terms of space and circulation. In the process of designing the Solok Raya Market area, the Neo-Vernacular concept will be applied which adapts the local culture of West Sumatra to the building concept, thus creating a building that pays attention to the local culture and climate. Neo Vernacular Architecture is an application of existing architectural elements, both physical (form and construction) and non-physical (concepts, philosophies, and spatial planning) with the aim of preserving local elements that were formed empirically by a tradition which later was little or no many have undergone renewal towards a more modern or advanced work without neglecting local traditional values (Nauw, 2013) Keywords: Traditional Market, Neo-Vernacular, West Sumatra Pasar adalah tempat adalah tempat untuk menjual dan memasarkan barang atau sebagai bentuk penampungan aktivitas perdagangan dan juga tempat untuk pembeli bertemu dengan penjual, dimana terdapat barang-barang atau jasa-jasa yang ditawarkan untuk dijual dan kemudian terjadi pemindahan hak milik (Ginanjar, Nugraha Jiwapraja, 1980) Pasar Raya Solok merupakan pasar utama yang berada di Kota Solok. Lokasi pasar yang cukup strategis di tengah kota, selain berfungsi sebagai prasarana untuk melayani masyarakat Kota Solok pasar ini juga difungsikan sebagai pusat perbelanjaan bagi daerah Kabupaten Solok, Sawahlunto, dan Sijunjung. Kawasan Pasar Raya solok juga menjadi tempat untuk mencari penghidupan bagi 29% masyarakat Solok. Sehingga, pembangunan dan pengembangan Pasar Raya akan mempunyai berbagai macam efek untuk perkembangan perekonomian Kota Solok. Dalam perancangan ini dipilih lokasi Kawasan Pasar Raya Solok yang berlokasi cukup strategis. Dimana lokasi kawasan pasar ini dikelilingi oleh berbagai macam fasilitas. Namun, untuk kondisi dari Kawasan Pasar Raya Solok ini masih dibutuhkan penataan baik dari segi ruang dan sirkulasi. Dalam proses perancangan Kawasan Pasar Raya Solok nantinya akan diterapkan konsep Neo-Vernakular yang mengadaptasi budaya lokal Sumatera Barat pada konsep bangunan, sehingga menciptakan bangunan yang memperhatikan kebudayaan dan iklim setempat. Arsitektur Neo Vernakular adalah suatu penerapan elemen arsitektur yang telah ada, baik fisik (bentuk dan konstruksi) maupun non-fisik (konsep, filosofi, dan tata ruang) dengan tujuan melestarikan unsur – unsur lokal yang terbentuk secara empiris oleh sebuah tradisi yang kemudian sedikit atau banyaknya mengalami pembaruan menuju suatu karya yang lebih modern atau maju tanpa mengkesampingkan nilai – nilai tradisi setempat (Nauw, 2013) Kata Kunci: Pasar Tradisional, Neo-Vernakular, Sumatera Barat
