Abstract

The research "Male Audience's Interpretation of Romanticism in Korean Drama Shows on NET TV (Analysis of Male Audience Receptions in West Jakarta)" aims to examine the meaning or reception of male audiences about the romanticism that Korean dramas air on NET TV and the factors that influence it. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Using the Stuart Hall version of the reception analysis research method. The research paradigm is a critical paradigm. Data collection techniques are in-depth interviews, as well as document studies in the form of books, journals, previous research, and research related institutions. Determination of informants using purposive sampling techniques with 7 (seven) informants. The results of this study, in the meaning of romanticism of Korean drama shows on NET TV are shows of the journey of a couple's love life full of twists and turns of life that end happily together. Which is entertaining and can touch the emotions of the audience. Meanwhile, the male audience's acceptance of the romanticism of Korean drama shows on NET TV is acceptable to the male audience. And the factor that influences it all is that the reception of the message (romanticism) in the audience depends on the cultural background and the life experience of the audience itself. Keywords: Reception Analysis, Audiences Interpretation, and Media. Penelitian “Interpretasi Khalayak Pria Tentang Romantisme Ditayangan Drama Korea Di NET (Analisis Resepsi Penonton Pria di Jakarta Barat)” bertujuan untuk mengkaji makna atau resepsi penonton laki-laki tentang romantisme drama Korea yang tayang di NET TV dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Menggunakan metode penelitian analisis resepsi versi Stuart Hall. Paradigma penelitian adalah paradigma kritis. Teknik mengumpulkan data yaitu wawancara mendalam, dan studi dokumen berupa buku, jurnal, penelitian terdahulu, dan instansi terkait penelitian. Penentuan informan menggunakan teknik sampling purposif (purposive sampling) dengan 7 (tujuh) informan. Hasil dari penelitian ini, pada pemaknaan romantisme tayangan drama Korea di NET TV adalah tayangan perjalanan hidup cinta pasangan yang penuh lika-liku kehidupan yang berakhir bahagia bersama. Yang menghibur dan dapat menyentuh emosi penonton. Sedangkan penerimaan penonton pria akan romanstisme tayangan drama Korea di NET TV adalah dapat diterima oleh khalayak Pria. Dan faktor yang mempengaruhi itu semua adalah penerimaan pesan (romantisme) pada penonton bergantung dengan latar belakang budaya dan pengalaman hidup penonton itu sendiri.
