Abstract
The bridge collapse caused by the failure of the gusset plate ever occurred, namely the Minnesota Bridge no.9340 or the I-35W bridge on August 1, 2007. This incident made it realize the importance of gusset plates in bridge design. In designing the connection, so far the focus has been on the strength of the rod components, the design of the gusset plate is only a complement. Therefore, the author conducted an analysis of the gusset plate which is expected to be used in the future. The analysis is carried out on the designs obtained from the results of previous studies and research. The analysis method refers to the AASTHO “Standard Specification for Highway Bridges” regulations. In general, it checked the dimensions of the gusset plate, analysis of bolt connections, shear blocks, and the Whitemore section. From the results of the research that the analysis of the gusset plate plan has met the applicable requirements. Keyword : Gusset Plate, AASHTO, Bolt Connections, Block Shears, Whitemore Section Keruntuhan jembatan yang diakibatkan Keruntuhan jembatan yang diakibatkan kegagalan pelat buhul pernah terjadi yaitu pada Jembatan Minnesota no.9340 atau jembatan I-35W pada 1 Agustus 2007. Peristiwa itu telah menyadarkan bahwa pentingnya pelat buhul pada perancangan jembatan. Dalam merancang sambungan selama ini lebih berfokus terhadap kekuatan komponen batang, perancangan pelat buhul hanya sebagai pelengkap. Olehkarena itu penulis melakukan analisis pelat buhul yang diharapkan dapat digunakan dikemudian hari. Analisis dilakukan terhadap desain yang diperloleh dari hasil kajian dan penelitian terdahulu. Metode analisis mengacu peraturan AASTHO “Standard Specification for Highway Bridges”. Secara garis besar dilakukan pengecekan terhadap dimensi pelat buhul, Analisa Sambungan Baut, blok geser, dan Whitemore section Dari hasil penelitian bahwa analisa gusset plate rencana sudah memenuhi persyaratan yang berlaku.
