Abstract
This study was conducted to see and see the relationship between loneliness and smartphone behavior in early adulthood during the Covid-19 pandemi. The number of samples in the study were 125 people with the criteria of early adulthood 18-40 years old and active in using smartphones everyday. Determine the sample size assisted by the G Power software Version 3.1. The measuring instrument used for the loneliness scale is the University of California Loneliness Scale developed by Russell (16 valid items, with Cronbach's Alpha value = 0.891) and the smartphone addiction scale is the smartphone addiction Scale-Short Version developed by M. Kwon (31 valid items, with Cronbach's Alpha value = 0.954). The method used is strong evidence and the results of data analysis show a very significant positive relationship between loneliness and a smartphone with a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.01) and a value of r = 0.998. These results show that the higher the loneliness, the higher the smartphone addiction that are developed by adults who are in their early age during the Covid-19 pandemi. Keywords : Loneliness, smartphone addiction, Early Adulthood, Pandemic covid-19.
