Abstract

The development of economic and technological growth has made the high demand for residential and office facilities so that the construction project are carried out. Each project requires proper planning to avoid structural failures that can cause material losses to the safety of living things. The LIPI (Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia) building is one of the 12-story buildings designed by using an alternative design of the shear wall. The LIPI building is a medium earthquake risk category with a soft soil type. Shear wall in this building is used to resist shear forces in the building and as an earthquake resistant structure. In this response study reviewing the LIPI Building using fc'40 MPa concrete quality in columns and shear walls, fc'35 MPa on plates and beams, and 400 MPa fy steel quality. In the implementation, preliminary calculations are performed first to get the structural element needs approach which is then checked through the ETABS v.9.7.4 program, and using earthquake response spectra. The results of the alternative design of the LIPI ini Building are one-way plates and two-way plates with a thickness of 150 mm, main beams and joists, with observations at G3.450x800 mm, columns with a review at C.800x800 mm, and shear walls with greening at thickness 40 cm. Keywords: Shear wall, response spectra, design Berkembangnya pertumbuhan ekonomi dan teknologi membuat tingginya kebutuhan fasilitas hunian maupun perkantoran sehingga dilakukannya proyek pembangunan. Setiap proyek membutuhkan perencanaan yang tepat untuk menghindari kegagalan struktur yang dapat menyebabkan kerugian materil hingga keselamatan makhluk hidup. Gedung LIPI (Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia) merupakan salah satu bangunan gedung 12 lantai di desain dengan menggunakan desain alternatif shear wall. Gedung LIPI ini merupakan kategori resiko gempa menengah dengan jenis tanah lunak. Shear wall pada bangunan ini digunakan untuk menahan gaya geser pada bangunan dan sebagai struktur penahan gempa. Pada studi respon ini meninjau pada Gedung LIPI dengan menggunakan mutu beton fc’40 Mpa pada kolom dan shear wall, fc’35 Mpa pada pelat dan balok, serta mutu baja fy 400 Mpa. Dalam pelaksanaannya dilakukan perhitungan preliminary terlebih dahulu untuk mendapatkan pendekatan kebutuhan elemen struktur yang kemudian dicek melalui program ETABS v.9.7.4, dan menggunakan gempa respon spectra. .Hasil dari desain alternatif Gedung LIPIini yaitu pelat satu arah dan pelat dua arah dengan tebal 150 mm, balok induk dan balok anak, dengan peninjauan pada G3.450x800 mm, kolom dengan peninjuan pada C.800x800 mm, serta shear wall dengan penijauan pada ketebalan 40 cm.
