Abstract
Abstract This research was conducted to examine the relation between self concept with constraining mate selection beliefs of early adult female. Quantitative method and accidental sampling was used with N = 385 respondents. Self concept was measured using Robson Self Concept Questionnaire (RSCQ) adaptation which consist of 30 items and constraining beliefs was measured using Cobb (2003) Attitudes about Romance and Mate Selection Scale (ARMSS) ) adaptation which consist of 32 items including 28 items and 4 distractor items that are not counted. Data was analyzed using pearson correlation analysis in SPSS version 20.0 was used to see relation between self concept variable with constraining beliefs variable. The results of this research show that there is relation that not significant, which is 0,653 > 0,05 between self concept and constraining mate selection beliefs of early adult female with r score : -0,023. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan total N = 385 responden dengan metode accidental sampling. Self concept diukur menggunakan adaptasi alat ukur Robson Self Concept Questionnaire (RSCQ) yang terdiri dari 30 item. Sedangkan constraining beliefs menggunakan adaptasi dari Cobb (2003) Attitudes about Romance and Mate Selection Scale (ARMSS) yang terdiri dari 32 item yang terdiri dari 28 item dan 4 item pengganggu yang tidak masuk dalam perhitungan atau scoring. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan software SPSS versi 20.0 dengan menggunakan analisis korelasi pearson untuk melihat hubungan antara self concept sebagai variabel independen dan constraining beliefs sebagai variabel dependent. Hail penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan yang tidak signifikan antara self concept dengan constraining beliefs pada perempuan dewasa awal dengan 0,653 > 0,05 dan nilai r = -0,023.
