Abstract

Densus 88 is a unit of the Special Detachment of the Indonesian National Police which deals with acts of terror in Indonesia. The Detachment 88 unit operates based on the Indonesian National Police Act number 1 of 2002 concerning the eradication of criminal acts of terrorism and law number 2 of 2002 concerning the Police. Terrorism is a crime that disturbs the security and peace of a country. Acts of terrorism have an impact in various aspects such as economic, social, cultural and others. The purpose of this study is to describe the sources of stress experienced by members of Densus 88 in handling terrorism cases. This study seeks to find out more about how the subject handles the stress he experiences while carrying out his duties, what aspects affect the stress he is facing and changes in behavior while dealing with terrorism cases. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method, namely generating and processing descriptive data, such as interview transcripts, field notes, photos, video recordings and so on. Of the two types of Coping Stress, namely Problem Focused Coping and Emotional Focused Coping, there are similarities between the 3 Subjects, namely Positive Appraisal. In the four subjects, all of them did the same Positive Appraisal coping, namely praying to God Almighty as a form of gratitude and always thinking positively by being in a positive environment. Keywords: Densus 88, Coping Stress Densus 88 adalah kesatuan Detasemen Khusus Kepolisian Republik Indonesia yang menanggulangi aksi teror di Indonesia. Kesatuan Densus 88 bergerak berdasarkan undang-undang Kepolisian Negara Republik Indonesia nomor 1 tahun 2002 tentang pemberantasan tindak pidana terorisme dan undang-undang nomor 2 tahun 2002 tentang Kepolisian. Terorisme merupakan kejahatan yang mengganggu keamanan dan ketenteraman suatu Negara. Aksi terorisme berdampak dalam berbagai aspek seperti ekonomi, sosial, budaya dan lain-lain. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah Mendeskripsikan sumber stress yang dialami oleh anggota densus 88 dalam penanganan kasus terorisme. Penelitian ini berusaha untuk mengetahui lebih dalam bagaimana subjek dalam menangani stress yang dialaminya selama menjalankan tugasnya, aspek apa saja yang mempengaruhi stress yang sedang dihadapi dan perubahan perilaku selama menangani kasus terorisme. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif, yaitu menghasilkan dan mengolah data yang sifatnya deskriptif, seperti transkrip wawancara, catatan lapangan, foto, rekaman video dan lain sebagainya. Dari kedua jenis Coping Stress yaitu Problem Focused Coping dan Emotional Focused Coping, terdapat kesamaan dari 3 Subjek yaitu Positive Apprasial. Pada ke empat Subjek semua melakukan coping Positive Apprasial yang sama yaitu berdoa kepada Tuhan yang Maha Esa sebagai bentuk rasa syukur serta selalu berpikir positif dengan berada di lingkungan yang positif.
