Abstract
THE EFFECT OF BODY IMAGE ON SELF-CONFIDENCE IN FEMALE STUDENTS OF VOCATIONAL SCHOOL "X" BEKASI Riska Herlina Cahyani Firman Alamsyah Ario Buntaran, S.Psi, MA University Of Mercu Buana ABSTRACT This study aimed at determining the effect of body image on self-confidence in female students of Vocational School "X" Bekasi. The subject in this study was 177 female students aged 15-18 years. This study hypothesizes that there is an effect of body image on self-confidence in female students in Vocational School "X" Bekasi. The data collection tool used is the scale of body image (MBSRQ-AS) and the scale of selfconfidence using a Likert scale. The body image scale has an Alpha Cronbach reliability coefficient of 0.674 and the self-confidence scale has an Alpha Cronbach reliability coefficient of 0.601. Data analysis used a simple linear regression test because it has one independent variable and one related variable. The result of this study shows that the value of R Square = 0.185 with a percentage of 18,5% and the value of t of 6.294 (p = 0,000: p<0.05). This means that there is a significant effect of body image on selfconfidence. Keywords: Body Image, Self-confidence. PENGARUH BODY IMAGE TERHADAP KEPERCAYAAN DIRI PADA REMAJA PUTRI DI SMK “X” BEKASI Riska Herlina Cahyani Firman Alamsyah Ario Buntaran, S.Psi, MA Universitas Mercu Buana ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh body image terhadap kepercayaan diri pada remaja putri di SMK “X” Bekasi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah remaja atau siswi-siswi SMK berjumlah 177 yang berusia 15-18 tahun. penelitian ini berhipotesis bahwa Terdapat pengaruh body image terhadap kepercayaan diri pada remaja putri di SMK X Bekasi. Alat pengumpulan data yang dugunakan adalah skala body image (MBSRQ-AS ) dan skala Kepercayaan diri dengan menggunakan skala Likert. Skala body image memiliki nilai koefisien reliabilitas Alpha Cronbach sebesar 0,674 dan skala kepercayaan diri memiliki nilai koefisien reliabilitas Alpha Cronbach sebesar 0,601. Analisis data menggunakan uji regresi linier sederhana karena memiliki satu variabel bebas dan satu variabel terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa nilai R Square = 0,185 dengan presentase sebesar 18,5% terdapat nilai t yaitu 6,294 (p=0,000: p<0,05). Yang artinya terdapat pengaruh signifikan body image terhadap kepercayaan diri. Kata kunci : Body Image, Kepercaayaan Diri.
