Abstract

ELECTRICAL GATE DESIGNS GAMBUS WITH RIAU BATIK ORNAMENTS Written Accountability Product Design Study Program Faculty of Design and Creative Arts of Mercu Buana University Bekasi, 2017 By: Muhammad Haris Pratama Gambus Selodang is a musical instrument or traditional instrument typical of Malay society in Siak regency of Riau province. The reason for the gambus instrument is difficult to develop due to the lack of interest of the community, especially the younger generation of gambus game. And one of the reasons for the lute instrument that does not have a fret that is generally on the guitar. This is the one that influences the interest to learn to play gambus instruments, so that the community and the younger generation of the nation are more interested in learning other instruments such as drums, keyboards, guitars and bass. The author's background to create a visualized gambus product is for the younger generation not to forget traditional musical instruments typical of Indonesia. In designing this designer will also innovate with electric guitar and in combination with gambus as a body on median a guitar and added a touch of typical batik Riau which is the origin of the instrument itself gambus, as well as carrying the concept of traditional and modern which later there is the addition of modern objects In the form of guitar effects combined into the body of the guitar. The conclusion that can be drawn is in making this product, the designer must consider the form and ergonomics in order to run in harmony and balance. Alasan alat musik gambus sulit berkembang dikarenakan kurangnya minat masyarakat khususnya generasi muda terhadap permainan gambus. dan salah satu alasannya pada instrumen gambus yang tidak memiliki fret yang umumnya ada pada gitar. Hal inilah salah satu yang mempengaruhi minat untuk belajar bermain instrumen gambus, sehingga masyarakat dan para generasi muda penerus bangsa lebih tertarik belajar instrumen lain seperti drum, keyboard, gitar dan bass. Latar belakang penulis untuk membuat produk yang bervisualisasikan gambus adalah agar generasi muda tidak melupakan alat musik tradisional khas Indonesia. Pada perancangan ini desainer juga akan berinovasi dengan gitar elektrik dan di kombinasikan dengan gambus sebagai badan pada median sebuah gitar dan ditambah sentuhan batik khas Riau yang merupakan asal dari alat musik gambus itu sendiri, serta mengusung konsep tradisional dan modern yang dimana nantinya ada penambahan objek modern berupa efek gitar yang dikombinasikan kedalam badan gitar. Kesimpulan yang dapat diambil adalah dalam membuat produk ini, desainer harus mempertimbangan antara bentuk dan ergonomi agar dapat berjalan dengan selaras dan seimbang.
