Abstract

Mass media conducts the process of message packaging and this process which is actually causing an event toward institutions having certain image. The role of media is highly important in constructing the institution that becomes election implementation. In this research, the mass media is Radar Tarakan. This media performs framing to Election Commission (KPU) of Tarakan City in implementing the stage of President and Vice President Election in 2014. This thesis has a number of aims to, firstly, to find out the framing conducting by the mass media Radar Tarakan in news concern on Election Commission (KPU) Tarakan City. Second, it aims to find out the policy of redaction of the mass media in conducting framing toward Election Commission (KPU) Tarakan over manifesting the stage of President and Vice President Election in 2014. The object of this research is news on Radar Tarakan. Method used in this research is framing method by using analyses of framing model of Gamson and Modigliani. The results showed that the framing is done by Radar Tarakan to Tarakan City Commission on its news shows positive news . So that the impact of such news affect , first , increase public confidence in the Election Commission (KPU) Tarakan City to exercise their voting rights . Second , increase the confidence of the candidates contesting the election to the Election Commission Tarakan as election organizers so they can take the final decision in determining Election Commission (KPU) Tarakan City recapitulation result in the election of President and Vice President in 2014 .
