Abstract

Setiap tahun perceraian mengalami peningkatan dan suami istri merupakan aktor utama dalam perceraian tersebut. Faktor penyebab perceraian adalah komunikasi dan konflik antarpribadi yang terjadi antara suami dan istri. Konflik antarpribadi memiliki aspek positif dan aspek negatif. Efek positifnya bisa meningkatkan kualitas komunikasi antarpribadi itu sendiri, sedangkan efek negatif-nya, jika konflik tidak dikelola dengan baik membuat konflik tersebut mengalami depenetrasi dan akhirnya hubungan yang terjalin akan berakhir. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Objek dalam penelitian ini yaitu lima orang istri yang pernah bercerai, yang penulis sebut sebagai pelaku perceraian dengan masa perkawinan sepuluh tahun pertama. Penelitian ini menggunakan Teori Komunikasi Antarpribadi dan Teori Manajemen Konflik dari DeVito, yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui makna komunikasi dan pengelolaan konflik antarpribadi bagi pelaku perceraian dalam perkawinan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi. Keseluruhan data yang berhasil dikumpulkan kemudian dianalisis. Hasil penelitian ini menujukkan bahwa komunikasi antarpribadi pada pasangan suami istri selama pernikahan berjalan kurang baik karena tidak ada sikap terbuka, empati, saling mendukung, sikap positif dan kesetaraan. Sementara, ketika konflik terjadi, pasangan suami istri lebih memilih mengelola konflik dengan penghindaran (non-negosiasi), pemaksaan, minimasi, menyalahkan, peredam, memendam kekecewaan dan penolakan pribadi. Kata kunci : komunikasi antarpribadi, manajemen konflik. Every year divorce rate are increased and spouses, husband and wife, are the main actor in the divorce. Causative factors of the divorce are the communication and interpersonal conflicts between husband and wife. Interpersonal conflict has positive aspects and negative aspects. The positive effect can improve the quality of interpersonal communication itself, while its negative effects, if the conflict is not managed properly can depenetrate the conflict and finally the relationship will be over. This study is a qualitative research with phenomenological approach. The object of this research are five divorcee women, which the authors refer to as divorce subjects with a ten-year period of the first marriage. This study uses a Theory of Interpersonal Communication and Conflict Management by DeVito, which aims to determine the meaning of the interpersonal communication and conflict management for the divorcee in marriage. Techniques of data collection is done by in-depth interviews and documentation. Overall the data collected and analyzed. Results of this study showed that interpersonal communication on the spouses during the marriage is not going well because there is no openness, empathy, supportiveness, positiveness and equality. Meanwhile, when the conflict happens, the couple prefers evasion (non-negotiation), coercion, minimization, blame, reducer, harbored disappointment, and personal rejection.
