Abstract

PT Bakrie Pipe Industries is one of the national steel pipe manufactures that has successfully embedded itself as the biggest and prominent steel pipe manufacturer and provider in Indonesia. High price of raw material (HRC) is very dependent on the condition of the world's steel, the hope of protection from government policies and the level of efficiency is not optimal, as well as the needs to improve its performance, forcing PT.BPI started doing evaluation in order to make continuous improvements in all area, to be able to compete in global market. Performance evaluation, carried out from financial and non financial side with the more objective and comprehensive. This research used Rolled Throughput Yield (RTY) to evaluate the performance of the production process at Plant Vai-4 in pipe products to the specifications of API 5L-B. And with RTY indicator, the production process can be improved. Production process performance Plant Vai-4 that can be achieved by using the method RTY is 89.50%. Achievement of this performance can be enhanced through improved production processes in Tube Mill section that covers repair defect Outter, Inner defects, and straightness. Keyword: Process Performance, Rolled Throughput Yield (RTY).PT Bakrie Pipe Industries merupakan salah satu produsen pipa baja nasional yang telah berhasil menancapkan diri sebagai produsen pipa baja terbesar dan terkemuka di Indonesia. Mahalnya harga bahan baku (HRC) yang sangat tergantung pada kondisi baja dunia, harapan adanya proteksi dari kebijakan pemerintah dan tingkat efisiensi yang belum optimal, serta adanya tuntutan untuk meningkatkan kinerjanya, memaksa PT.BPI mulai melakukan evaluasi dalam rangka melakukan perbaikan yang berkesinambungan di segala bidang, untuk dapat bersaing di era pasar global. Evaluasi kinerja, dilakukan dari sisi keuangan dan non keuangan dengan lebih obyektif dan komprehesif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rolled Throughput Yield (RTY) untuk melakukan evaluasi kinerja proses produksi pada Plant VAI-4 pada produk pipa dengan spesifikasi API 5L-B. Dan dengan indikator RTY, proses produksi dapat dilakukan perbaikan. Kinerja proses produksi Plant VAI-4 yang dapat dicapai dengan menggunakan metode RTY adalah sebesar 89.50%. Pencapaian kinerja ini dapat ditingkatkan melalui perbaikan proses produksi pada section Tube Mill yang meliputi perbaikan Outter defect, Inner defect, dan straightness. Kata kunci : Kinerja Proses, Rolled Throughput Yield (RTY).
