Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of self-control on discipline in students of SMP X Jakarta Barat. The measuring instrument used for self control is according to Averill with the dimensions of behavior control, cognitive control and decision control. Meanwhile, for discipline the measuring instrument used is according to Crow and Crow with the dimensions of awareness, understanding and skills. This study uses a simple linear regression research design where the design used is based on the objectives and hypotheses of a study to be conducted. This study uses nonprobability sampling with saturated sampling technique. Participants in this study amounted to 82 students, all of whom were students of SMP X Jakarta Barat. Collecting data using an online questionnaire (google form). The result of this research is that there is a positive influence of the self control variable on the discipline variable because the results of the linear regression test show that the f value is 53.662 with a significance level of 0.000 <0.05 and a coefficient of determination of 0.401, which means that the effect of selfcontrol on discipline which is 40.1% and 59,9% is influenced by other factors. Keywords: Self-control, Discipline Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh antara self control terhadap kedisiplinan pada siswa SMP X Jakarta Barat. Alat ukur yang digunakan untuk self control adalah menurut Averill dengan dimensi kontrol perilaku, kontrol kognitif dan kontrol keputusan. Sedangkan untuk kedisiplinan alat ukur yang digunakan adalah menurut Crow and Crow dengan dimensi kesadaran, pemahaman dan keterampilan. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian Regresi Linier Sederhana dimana desain yang digunakan berdasarkan tujuan dan hipotesis dari sebuah penelitian yang akan dilakukan. Penelitian ini menggunakan nonprobability sampling dengan teknik sampling jenuh. Partisipan pada penelitian ini berjumlah 82 siswa yang seluruhnya adalah siswa SMP X Jakarta Barat. Pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner secara online (google form). Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah adanya pengaruh yang positif variabel self control terhadap variabel kedisiplinan karena dari hasil uji regresi linier didapatkan nilai f hitung sebesar 53,662 dengan tingkat signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 dan dengan nilai koefisien determinasi sebesar 0,401 yang artinya pengaruh self control terhadap kedisiplinan yaitu sebesar 40,1% dan 59,9% dipengaruhi faktor lain.
