Abstract

This research is motivated by the development of Islamic products in PT . Prudential Life Assurance Indonesia . In Indonesia , Prudential is one of the largest insurance companies and agents most premium income every year. Interpersonal communication with prospective customers insurance agent interesting to study because of the communication failure be thinking about a phenomenon often met with resistance from prospective customers . This study uses the theory of attitude by DeVito in the form of openness , empathy , mutual support , positive , and thus the creation of a kesuksesaan equality . This study used a qualitative method with a case study approach . The strength lies in the fusion of communication verbal and non -verbal communication in the delivery of the message . Primary data collection techniques by observation and interview . Observation techniques involve ( participant observation ) and in-depth interviews ( in - depth interviews ) .Sedangkan secondary data by means of support tools ( tape recorder ) and from the library . Data analysis was performed with before in the field , while in the field and completed the field . The analysis in the field is done by data reduction , data presentation , drawing conclusions and verification . While the technique of triangulation data validity checking with the source . Interpersonal communication in the form of face-to- face communication is difficult to be replaced in the process of interaction , as well as in the world of insurance agency , as it requires a multi- player specific skills and unique properties , especially in the world of insurance agency , due to involving a variety of personal , specific circumstances and context to make it happen . Interpersonal communication is communication that is able to touch the recesses of the heart being able to present its own sensation in the delivery of the message information . Keywords : Interpersonal Communication , DeVito , Prudential Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dengan perkembangan produk syariah di PT. Prudential Life Assurance Indonesia. Di Indonesia, Prudential merupakan salah satu perusahaan asuransi terbesar dengan pendapatan premi dan agen terbanyak setiap tahun. Komunikasi interpersonal agen asuransi dengan calon nasabah menarik untuk diteliti karena komunikasi tersebut memiliki fenomena kegagalan berupa seringnya mendapatkan penolakan dari calon nasabah. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori sikap oleh Devito yaitu berupa keterbukaan, empati, saling mendukung, positif, dan kesetaraan sehingga terciptanya sebuah kesuksesaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Kekuatan komunikasi terletak pada perpaduan komunikasi verbal dan nonverbal dalam penyampaian pesan.Teknik pengumpulan data primer dengan cara observasi dan wawancara. Teknik observasi melibatkan (participant observation)dan wawancara mendalam (in depth interview). Sedangkan data sekunder dengan cara alat pendukung (alatperekam) dandaripustaka. Analisis data dilakukandengansebelum di lapangan, selama di lapangan dan selesai dilapangan. Analisis di lapangan dilakukan dengan carar eduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Sedangkan tekhnik pemeriksaan keabsahan data dengan triangulasi sumber. Komunikasi interpersonal dalam bentuk tatap muka adalah komunikasi yang sulit untuk tergantikan dalam proses interaksi, seperti halnya pada dunia keagenan asuransi, karena membutuhkan multi player kecakapan tertentu dan sifat unik terutama di dalam dunia keagenan asuransi, dikarenakan melibatkan bermacam pribadi, situasi dan konteks tertentu untuk mewujudkannya. Komunikasi interpersonal adalah komunikasi yang mampu menyentuh relunghati karena mampu menghadirkan sensasi tersendiri dalam penyampaian pesan informasi.
