Abstract

Semiotics as a theory the author uses to analyze the process of production of sign and meaning to see how media texts construct meaning. With dichotomy sign system described by Ferdinand De Sausurre author uses to uncover the meaning of the series of symbols (signs) that exist in the film will be the presence of capitalism amid the happiness of small family life. Semiotics is known as the discipline that examines the sign, the sign and the mark. According to Saussure, the sign has two entities, namely the signifier and the signified, and through this concept the author uses to see the meaning that arises when there is a relationship that is an association between the 'marked' (signified) and 'the mark' (signifier). The film as a fantasy space it is possible to play the story content and constructs the message desired by the movie maker. Qualitative research methods with paradigm of constructivist authors use as an approach of thought to seeing the object research itself is the film Kara, Anak sebatang pohon, so the author has reference to interpretation of the meanings in the story content of the movie. Results from the research in this movie is to explain how the story is built and constructed about capitalism can do everything and spreaded in any way they can, and capitalism given a negative impact. the ironic condition happened where asionalized a condition that was not originally desired. Keywords: Semiotics, Capitalism, Film Semiotika sebagai teori penulis gunakan untuk menganalisa proses pembentukan tanda dan produksi pemaknaan untuk melihat bagaimana teks media membangun maknanya. Dengan dikotomi sistem tanda yang dipaparkan oleh Ferdinand De Sausurre penulis gunakan untuk mengungkap makna pada rangkaian simbol (tanda) yang ada pada film tersebut akan hadirnya kapitalisme ditengah-tengah kebahagian dari kehidupun sebuah keluarga kecil. Semiotik dikenal sebagai disiplin yang mengkaji tanda, proses menanda dan proses menandai. Menurut Saussure, tanda mempunyai dua entitas yaitu Signifier dan Signified, dan melalui konsep ini penulis gunakan untuk melihat makna yang muncul ketika ada hubungan yang bersifat asosiasi antara ‘yang ditandai’ (signified) dan ‘yang menandai’ (signifier). Film sebagai ruang fantasi sangat memungkinkan untuk memainkan konten ceritanya dan melakukan konstruksi pesan yang diinginkan oleh pembuatnya. Metode penelitian kualitatif dengan paradigma Kontruktivis penulis gunakan sebagai suatu pendekatan pemikiran dalam melihat objek penelitian yaitu film Kara, Anak Sebatang Pohon sehingga penulis memiliki acuan dalam melakukan interpretasi terhadap makna yang ada pada konten cerita film tersebut. Hasil dari penelitian terhadap film ini menjelaskan bagaimana konten cerita dibangun dan dikontruksikan yaitu kapitalisme dalam melakukan penyebarannya melakukan segala cara, dan hadirnya kapitalisme telah memberikan dampak negatif. Kondisi ironis terjadi dimana terasionalisasilah sebuah kondisi yang awalnya tidak diinginkan. Kata Kunci: Semiotika, Kapitalisme, Film
