Abstract

This thesis research aims to determine the influence of social media Instagram @jokowi on the decision of first-time voters according to a survey of 2018 Mercu Buana University Broadcasting students. Instagram @jokowi account is Jokowi's personal account to share daily information and campaign activities in the form of images and captions. Instagram social media is social media that is widely accessed by potential voters who are included in the category of firsttime voters. Beginner voters can easily access information such as the work program launched by Jokowi through his personal Instagram @jokowi. The theory used in this study is the Stimulus Organism Response which explains that the effect is a reaction to a stimulus (certain stimuli). This type of research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The method used is a survey method. The population used in this study were 112 students who were sampled. Judging from the results of the Validity and Reliability Test of Variable X, namely social media exposure to Instagram @jokowi shows a KMO value of 0.816, this variable is declared valid. The results of the Validity and Reliability Test for Variable Y, namely the decision to choose first-time voters, showed the KMO value of 0.946, this variable was declared valid. Penelitian skripsi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media sosial instagram @jokowi keputusan pemilih pemula menurut survey pada mahasiswa Broadcastinng Universitas Mercu Buana angkatan 2018. Akun instagram @jokowi merupakan akun personal Jokowi untuk membagikan informasi keseharian dan kegiatan saat kampanye dalam bentuk gambar dan caption. Media sosial instagram adalah media sosial yang banyak diakses oleh calon pemilih yang termasuk dalam kategori pemilih pemula. Pemilih pemula dapat dengan mudah mengakses informasi seperti program kerja yang dicanangkan oleh Jokowi melalui instagram pribadinya @jokowi. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Stimulus Organisme Response yang menjelaskan bahwa efek merupakan reaksi terhadap stimulus (rangsangan tertentu). Tipe penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survey. Populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 112 mahasiswa yang dijadikan sampel. Dilihat dari hasil Uji Validitas dan Reliabilitas Variable X yaitu terpaan media sosial instagram @jokowi menunjukkan nilai KMO sebesar 0,816, variable ini dinyatakan valid. Hasil Uji Validitas dan Reliabilitas Variable Y yaitu keputusan memilih pemilih pemula menunjukkan hasil nilai KMO 0,946, variable ini dinyatakan valid. Kata Kunci: Kuantitatif, Persepsi, Terpaan, Instagram, Deskriptif.
