Abstract

The automotive industry has a large role in the national economy and is an important pillar of the manufacturing sector in Indonesia. This is reinforced by data from the Ministry of Industry which shows that the automotive sector absorbs employment of 1.3 million people in 2016-2017. The automotive industry has links with many other industries. The growth of the car industry has encouraged the emergence of supporting industries to produce components, especially local industries. Plus the Indonesian Minister of Industry Regulation No. 16 / M-IND / PER / 2/2011 which explains that the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) is 75%. The automotive component industry will increasingly stretch with increasing competition in the automotive industry. More and more new players are present to compete for car makers. Satisfactory performance is a fixed price for the company to continue to survive. There are 3 performance categories namely product quality, delivery performance and safety. This study limits improvements that focus on delivery performance. The Value Stream Mapping (VSM) tool is used to find the root of the problem. Obtained that Cycle Time> Takt Time (62.00> 57.30) so that the lead time in the welding area exceeds the standard which is 18.00 hours. Performed repairs by changing the work layout, the results showed that there was a decrease in cycle time from 62.00 seconds to 53.00 seconds (9 seconds reduced). Keywords: TPS, performance, delivery, VSM Industri otomotif memiliki peran besar pada perekonomian nasional dan merupakan pilar penting sektor manufaktur di Indonesia. Ini diperkuat dengan data dari Kementrian Perindustrian yang menunjukkan bahwa sektor otomotif menyerap tenaga kerja hingga 1,3 juta orang pada tahun 2016-2017. Industri otomotif memiliki keterkaitan dengan banyak industri lainnya. Tumbuhnya industri mobil mendorong bermunculannya industri - industri pendukung untuk memproduksi komponen terutama industri lokal. Ditambah lagi Peraturan Menteri Perindustrian RI dengan No 16/M- IND/PER/2/2011 yang menjelaskan bahwa Tingkat Komponen Dalam Negeri (TKDN) adalah 75%. Industri komponen otomotif akan semakin bergeliat dengan semakin meningkatnya persaingan dalam industri otomotif. Semakin banyak pemain baru yang hadir untuk berlomba-lomba menarik minat customer (car maker). Kinerja yang memuaskan menjadi harga mati bagi perusahaan untuk terus bertahan. Terdapat 3 kategori kinerja yaitu kualitas produk, kinerja pengiriman dan safety. Studi ini membatasi perbaikan yang berfokus pada kinerja delivery. Tool Value Stream Mapping (VSM) digunakan untuk mencari akar masalah. Diperoleh bahwa Cycle Time > Takt Time ( 62,00 > 57,30) sehingga lead time di area welding melebihi standar yaitu 18,00 jam. Dilakukan perbaikan dengan mengubah layout kerja diperoleh hasil bahwa terjadi penurunan cycle time dari awalnya 62,00 detik menjadi 53,00 detik (direduksi 9 detik).
