Abstract

ABSTRAK Tingkat kebutuhan dan krusialitas yang tinggi ini menjadi tantangan bagi perusahaan penyedia jasa VSAT, karena sebagaimana diketahui jaringan VSAT memiliki tingkat kehandalan yang tidak terlalu tinggi dan availability yang bergantung pada cuaca. Metode perhitungan availability jaringan VSAT yang selalu dilaporkan kepada pelanggan dimana cara perhitungan berdasarkan NMS (Network Monitoring System) untuk setiap bulannya. Nilai Availability dipengaruhi adanya kondisi lingkungan dimana perangkat beroperasional seperti halnya intensitas hujan pada daerah tersebut. Besarnya nilai redaman hujan dapat diperoleh dari perhitungan dengan metode ITU-R-P.616.5. Dari hasil pengamatan, dengan intensitas hujan di area Bogor (Indonesia) 76,8 mm/h memperoleh nilai redaman hujan sebesar 17.78 dB dengan availability 97.53% dalam satu bulan. Dengan availability tersebut diperlukan adanya improvement supaya target avalaibility dapat mencapai 99 %. Salah satu caranya adalah dengan adanya site diversity. Kata Kunci: VSAT link, redaman hujan, Site Diversity. ABSTRACT High degree of needs and cruciality for VSAT service becoming challenge for provider because VSAT service nowadays has low reliability, and availability depends of weather. VSAT network availability calculation method always reported to customers base on NMS (Network Monitoring System) for each month. Availability is influenced by the environmental conditions in which the device operates as well as the intensity of rain in the area. The amount of rain attenuation value can be obtained from calculations using the ITU-R-P.616.5 method. Based on observations, with rainfall intensity in the Bogor (Indonesia) area 76.8 mm/h obtained a rain attenuation value of 17.78 dB with availability of 97.53% in one month. With this availability, an improvement is needed so that the target of availability can reach 99%. One of solution is to have site diversity. Key word: VSAT link, Rain Attenuation, Site Diversity.
