Abstract

High consumers demand and volatility are factors that affect industries to be able to produce with high capacity. Press tool is one of manufacturing tool that able to fulfill the requirement. As precision tool its dimension must be considered. To measure the dimension of an object it needs measurement tools such as micrometer which has to be able to define the value given is the closest to its actual dimension. Micrometer spanner as a calibrating tool is important for supporting measurement tool so it will have the best performance. However, the small size of micrometer spanner is easily damage and lost also its not separately sell on the market. To avoid this problem a manufacturing tool needs to be made to produce micrometer spanner so it will be available on the market and micrometer calibration can always be done with the proper tool. By considering the work station, the simple press tool is the most suitable press tool for the micrometer spanner. By redesigning the spanner, calculating the design, determining the dimensions, determining the material, analyzing the von misses and displacement using CATIA V5, the results of the design calculations are press tool parts drawing: shank, top plates, punch holders, stripper, dies, bottom plate, bushing, guide pillar , punch, stopper and guide pin with assembly dimensions 230 mm x 120 mm x 172 mm also press tool design is feasible to proceed to the manufacturing stage. Key Word: Design, press tool, micrometer, spanner, CATIA Banyaknya permintaan konsumen dan cepatnya perubahan permintaan menjadikan suatu industri membutuhkan kecepatan produksi yang tinggi. Press tool salah satu alat penunjang produksi yang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut. Press tool sebagai alat presisi memeliki hal yang harus diperhatikan salah satunya adalah dimensi. Untuk melakukan pengukuran dimensi dibutuhkan alat khusus seperti micrometer dimana micrometer ini harus mampu memberikan hasil pengukuran yang tepat dan mendekati ukuran sebenarnya. Micrometer spanner sebagai alat kalibrasi memiliki peran penting agar alat ukur bisa digunakan dan memberikan hasil yang baik. Namun bentuknya yang kecil menajadikannya rentan rusak dan hilang juga sulit didapatkan secara terpisah. Untuk menghindari hal tersebut perlu dibuat alat produksi untuk memproduksi micrometer spanner sehingga micrometer spanner mudah didapatkan secara terpisah dan kalibrasi micrometer bisa selalu dilakukan dengan alat yang tepat. Dengan memepertimbangkan station kerja maka simple press tool adalah alat produksi yang tepat untuk micrometer spanner. Dengan melakukan redesign spanner, melakukan perhitungan perancangan, penentuan dimensi, penentuan bahan, analisis von misses dan displacement menggunakan CATIA V5 didapatkan hasil hitung perancangan gambar kerja part press tool berupa shank, top plate, punch holder, stripper, dies, bottom plate bushing, guide pillar, punch stopper dan pin pengarah dengan dimensi assembly 230 mm x 120 mm x 172 mm dan rancangan press tool layak untuk dilanjutkan ke tahap pembuatan.
