Abstract
This study purposes to define the correlation of self-control in impulsive buying on the psychological students who use online shop application at X university. The sampling of the study uses purposive sampling with the total subject as many as 189 students. The measurement of this study is the impulse buying tendency scale from Verplanken & Herabadi (2001) that have been modified with 0,902 reliability coefficient alpha cronbach and self control scale from tangney, baumister, and boone (2004) that is adapted with 0,875 reliability coefficient alpha cronbach. The collected data are analyzed by correlation test and it shows r=0,000 (p ≤ 0,05) which determine that there is a significant correlation between self-control on impulsive buying on psychological students who use online shop application at X university, the students who have low self-control are prefer to be high impulsive buying owners. Keywords: self-control, impulsive buying Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan kontrol diri dengan impulsive buying pada mahasiswa psikologi pengguna aplikasi belanja online di universitas X. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik sampling purposive dengan jumlah subjek sebanyak 189 mahasiswa. Alat ukur pada penelitian ini adalah The Impulse Buying Tendency Scale dari Verplanken & Herabadi (2001) yang telah dimodifikasi dengan koefisien reabilitas cronbach alpha 0,902 dan Self Control Scale dari Tangney, Baumeister, dan Boone (2004) yang telah diadaptasi dengan koefisien reliabilitas cronbach alpha 0,875. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji korelasi dan menunjukkan nilai koefisien korelasi r = 0,000 (p ≤ 0,05) artinya ada hubungan yang signifikan antara kontrol diri terhadap impulsive buying pada mahasiswa psikologi pengguna aplikasi belanja online di universitas X, dimana mereka yang memiliki kontrol diri yang rendah memiliki kecenderungan impulsive buying yang tinggi.
