Abstract

Telecommunication tower providers are currently competing to improve services and the number of new towers by utilizing towers (existing), with modification towers or strengthening existing the towers. The addition of devices can be done by additional sector antenna (RF) and microwave antenna (MW). The additional of equipment in the tower adds to the burden that must be borne by the existing tower, so using loads related to the tower structure must be re analyzed using the Ms-Tower V 6.02.002 computer program, whether the addition of the load will dangerous the stability of the tower structure (existing) Checking tower stability includes several things, that is : calculate the highest stress ratio that occurs in tower elements, sway towers, twist towers and displacement towers. If the additional equipment in the tower is still within the tower design capacity, the additional device is not a problem. Another case if the addition of the device has exceeded the capacity or threshold of the tower structure, this will be a problem and the solution must be strengthening on the tower structure (existing). Kata kunci : Tower, Load, Antenna, Strengthening Para provider tower telekomunikasi saat ini sedang berlomba-lomba dalam meningkatkan pelayanan dan jumlah tower baru dengan memanfaatkan tower yang telah ada (existing) yaitu dengan memodifikasi atau memperkuat tower yang ada. Penambahan perangkat bisa dilakukan meliputi penambahan antena sector (RF) dan antena microwave (MW). Penambahan perangkat di tower mengakibatkan bertambahnya beban yang harus dipikul oleh tower existing, maka dengan penambahan beban yang terjadi struktur tower harus dianalisa ulang dengan menggunakan bantuan program komputer Ms-Tower V 6.02.002, apakah penambahan beban tersebut akan membahayakan stabilitas struktur tower (existing). Pengecekan stabilitas tower meliputi beberapa hal, yaitu : menghitung rasio tegangan yang terjadi pada elemen tower, goyangan tower, puntiran tower dan pergeseran tower. Apabila penambahan perangkat di tower masih dalam batas kapasitas tower design, maka penambahan perangkat tidak menjadi masalah. Lain halnya jika penambahan perangkat sudah melebihi kapasitas atau ambang batas struktur tower, maka hal tersebut akan menjadi masalah dan solusinya adalah harus dilakukan perkuatan pada struktur tower (existing).
