Abstract

Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) is a fixed speed turbine gas engine that functions as a provider of compressed air and a provider of electrical power in aircraft systems. Based on the 2019 visit summary APU shop, there are several GTCP131-9 [A] APU types that enter the workshop before the scheduled maintenance time. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors causing damage to APU type GTCP131- 9 [A] and provide suggestions for improvement using the DMAIC method. In the period January - September 2019 there were 7 damages that occurred with the most dominant type of Smoke at Exhaust damage with a sigma value of 3,443. Define stage analyzes the most dominant factor type of damage that occurs is Smoke at Exhaust using Pareto chart. Measure stage using the FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis) method associated with RPN (Risk Priority Number) on each type of damage resulted in the highest score of 294 of the type of Smoke at Exhaust damage. Analyze stage using the Fishbone diagram can be seen the need for training, procurement of work equipment and replacement of parts. Improve stage using the PDCA method (Plan, Do, Check, Action). This stage is an improve related to conducting training, changing worksheets, procuring equipment such as torque wrenches, changing components on the APU namely Seal Air / Oil Stationary PN 3844738-6 with PN 3844738-7. The results of the improvement indicate that there was a decrease in damage that occurred as much as 2 times in the period October - December 2019. With the previous sigma value of 3,443 after an improve to 3,51. The increase occurred by 0.067. The control stages provide continuous improvement so that the type of Smoke at Exhaust damage can be reduced. Keywords : DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). Pareto Chart. Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) merupakan mesin gas turbin kecepatan tetap yang berfungsi sebagai penyedia udara bertekanan dan penyedia daya listrik pada sistem pesawat terbang. Berdasarkan data APU shop visit summary 2019, ada beberapa APU type GTCP131-9[A] yang masuk ke workshop sebelum waktunya pemeliharaan terjadwal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor penyebab kerusakan pada APU type GTCP131-9[A] serta memberikan usulan perbaikan menggunakan metode DMAIC. Dalam periode bulan Januari–September 2019 terdapat 7 kerusakan yang terjadi dengan jenis kerusakan Smoke at Exhaust yang paling dominan dengan nilai sigma 3,443. Tahapan penetapan menganalisa faktor paling dominan jenis kerusakan yang terjadi yaitu Smoke at Exhaust menggunakan diagram Pareto. Tahapan pengukuran menggunakan metode FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis) yang terkait dengan RPN (Risk Priority Number) pada setiap jenis kerusakan menghasilkan skor tertinggi sebesar 294 dari jenis kerusakan Smoke at Exhaust. Tahapan Analisa dengan menggunakan Metode Fishbone dapat diketahui perlunya pelatihan, pengadaan peralatan kerja dan pergantian part. Tahapan peningkatan dengan menggunakan metode PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Action). Tahap ini adalah peningkatan terkait dengan melakukan pelatihan, ubah lembar kerja, pengadaan peralatan seperti kunci torsi, pergantian komponen pada APU yaitu Seal Air/Oil Stationary PN 3844738-6 dengan PN 3844738-7. Hasil peningkatan menunjukkan bahwa ada penurunan kerusakan yang terjadi sebanyak 2 kali dalam periode bulan Oktober – Desember 2019. Dengan nilai sigma yang sebelumnya 3,443 setelah adanya peningkatan menjadi 3,51. Peningkatan yang terjadi sebesar 0,067. Tahapan kontrol menyediakan perbaikan secara berkelanjutan agar jenis kerusakan Smoke at Exhaust dapat berkurang. Kata Kunci : DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). Pareto Chart.
