Abstract
Course (AC-WC) material selection to be used as filler is an important stage, because filler required to fill pores in the asphalt concrete. One of the material that has good characteristics as material filler are cellulose of rice fiber and talc. Those two materials are abundant availability and has not been optimally utilized. For this reason, this research aimed to examine the effect of rice cellulose and talc usage in a mixture of Asphalt Concrete – Wearing Course (AC-WC). The testing is was carried out in 3 stages; firstly, portland cement as filler specimen test to obtain KAO values; secondly, specimens test with variations of rice cellulose fillers and talc fiber to get Marshall mixture characteristics and also to observe the chance of water interruption to the mixture with seeing the IKS value at 24 hours, and thirdly, modified durability test to see the strength of the mixture during 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours and 96 hours soaking. From stage 1 testing obtained KAO value was 7.68%, from stage 2 testing obtained the IKS value in the mixture for 24 hour immersion was 92.22% for mixture 1 variation, while mixture 2 variation was 92.81%, mixture 3 variation was 91.421%, variation of mixture 4 was 90.97%, and variation of mixture 5 was 91.71%. These values fulfills the requirements of the IKS value which is 90%, the result of stage 3 testing resulted the durability modification testing variation 1 founded the So value was 1552.38 kg, the r-value 1.38%, the a-value was 18.66%, and the Sa value was 81.34%. While, the results of variation 2, the So the value was 1507.76 kg, the r-value 1.46%, avalue of 19.70%, and the value of 80.30% Sa. Variation 3 So the value was 1512.26 kg, the r-value was 1.43%, the a-value is 19.27%, and the Sa-value was 80.73%. Variation 4 the So value was 1468.67 kg, the r-value was 1.47%, the a-value was 19.77%, and the Sa-value of 80.23%. Variations of 5, the So value was 1431.36 kg, the r-value 1.38%, the a-value of 18.57%, and the Sa-value 81.43%. Keywords: Cellulose Rice Fiber, Talk, Filler, Asphalt Concrete - Wearing Course (ACWC) and Marshall Test.
