Abstract

Generally office buildings use a centralized air conditioning system as part of the HVAC system. In this system, air conditioning is carried out centrally and then distributed throughout the building through ducting, the air distribution channel is channeled through 3 systems namely, conditioned air supply lines, fresh air lines, air exhaust lines (exhaust air). The conditioned air that is distributed through the ducting installation enters the room through the Air Grille Supply (SAG). Because the role of air distribution is regulated by SAG, the SAG design is very influential on the distribution of well-distributed air into the room. This research stage predicts the characteristics of air flow using the approach (CFD). The simulation applies the k-epsilon turbulence model by developing three types of structured meshes of up to 973651 elements. From the simulations that have been carried out using 3 different fluid flows, it can be concluded that the geometrical shape of the SAG ceiling diffuser looks better in the distribution of air temperature in the office space. Keyword: HVAC, SAG, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Umumnya gedung perkantoran menggunakan sistem pengkondisian udara terpusat sebagai bagian dari sistem HVAC. Pada sistem ini, pengkondisian udara dilakukan terpusat dan kemudian didistribusikan ke seluruh gedung melalui ducting, jalur distribusi udara disalurkan melalui 3 sistem yaitu, jalur supply udara terkondisikan, jalur udara segar (fresh air), jalur pembuangan udara (exhaust air). Udara terkondisikan yang didistribusi melalui installasi ducting masuk ke dalam ruangan melalui Supply Air Grille (SAG). Karena peran penyebaran udara diatur oleh SAG, maka desain SAG sangat berpengaruh terhadap penyebaran udara yang terdistribusi ke dalam ruangan secara baik. Tahap penelitian ini melakukan prediksi karakteristik aliran udara dengan pendekatan (CFD). Simulasi mengaplikasikan model turbulensi k-epsilon dengan mengembangkan tiga tipe mesh secara terstruktur hingga 973651 elemen. Dari simulasi yang sudah dilakukan dengan menggunakan 3 aliran fluida yang berbeda, maka dapat di ambil kesimpulan bahwa bentuk geometri SAG ceiling diffuser terlihat lebih baik dalam pendistribusian suhu udara di dalam ruang perkantoran.
