Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine and explain the effect of soft skills and work ability on motivation and its implications for employee performance, which in this case is the Performance of Civil Servants (PNS) Center for Education and Training of the Agency for Research and Development of Human Resources, Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic Indonesia. The research method uses a quantitative approach, which became the population and directly used as samples in this study were 42 (fortytwo) Civil Servants (PNS) Center for Education and Training of the Agency for Research and Development of Human Resources Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. Data collection techniques using interviews and questionnaire instruments. The questionnaire survey instrument was randomly delivered to Civil Servants of the Center for Education and Training of the Research and Development Agency for Human Resources, Ministry of Communication and Information. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) with the Smart PLS3.0 software program. This study revealed that soft skills, work ability and motivation had a significant positive effect on employee performance, both partially and simultaneously. In addition, motivation variables mediate soft skill variables on employee performance and motivation variables mediate work ability variables on employee performance. Keywords: competency, motivation, organizational commitment and employee performance. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menjelaskan pengaruh soft skill dan kemampuan kerja terhadap motivasi serta implikasinya terhadap kinerja pegawai yang dalam hal ini adalah kinerja Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS) Pusat Pendidikan dan Pelatihan Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan Sumber Daya Manusia Kementerian Komunikasi dan Informatika Republik Indonesia. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, yang menjadi populasi dan langsung dijadikan Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 4 2 ( e m p a t p u l u h d u a ) Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS) Pusat Pendidikan dan Pelatihan Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan Sumber Daya Manusia Kementerian Komunikasi dan Informatika. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan instrument kuesioner. Instrumen survei kuesioner disampaikan secara acak kepada Pegawai Negeri Sipil Pusat Pendidikan dan Pelatihan Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan Sumber Daya Manusia Kementerian Komunikasi dan Informatika. Data dianalisis menggunakan model persamaan struktural (SEM) dengan program software Smart PLS3.0. Penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa soft skill, kemampuan kerja dan motivasi berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai, baik secara parsial maupun simultan. Disamping itu, variabel motivasi memediasi variabel soft skill terhadap kinerja pegawai dan variabel motivasi memediasi variabel kemampuan kerja terhadap kinerja pegawai.
