Abstract
In food manufacturing, production line plays important role in determining production lead time. One of the product of food manufacturing we're specifically discussing here is squishy meatball. The objective of this study is to identify area of causes of inbalanced line and to figure out the value of Line efficiency of production line after line balancing is implemented. Line balancing is implemented by using the Helgeson Birnie/Ranked Positional Weight (RPW) method. Analysis stage is done by collecting data by using a stopwatch. Then performance is compared between initial stage, during the observation, and after the method is implemented. The analysis results tell us that the cause of inbalanced line occurs in low risk and high risk zones. After line balancing is implemented by using Ranked Positional Weight line, line efficiency values of initial stage and observation improve from 34% and 34.4% to 85% and 86% Keywords: Imbalance line, Helgeson Birnie, Lline Efficiency, Ranked Positional Weight Dalam perusahan makanan, lintasan produksi sangatlah penting dalam menentukan ketepatan waktu produksi. Salah satu produk yang dihasilkan di perusahaan makanan ini yaitu bakso licin. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui area penyebab ketidakseimbangan lintasan dan mengetahui nilai Line efficiency lintasan produksi setelah dilakukan penyeimbangan lintasan. Penyeimbangan lintasan dilakukan dengan metode Helgeson Birnie/Ranked Positional Weight (RPW). Tahap analisis dilakukan dengan pengambilan data dengan menggunakan stopwatch. Selanjutnya dilakukan perbandingan performansi lintasan keadaan awal, saat pengamatan, dan dengan menggunakan metode. Berdasarkan analisis menggunakan metode Ranked Positional Weight ditemukan penyebab ketidakseimbangan lintasan yaitu berada di area low risk dan high risk. Hasil analisis setelah dilakukan penyeimbangan lintasan dengan metode Ranked Positional Weight didapat nilai Line efficiency dari keaadan awal dan pengamatan sebesar 34% dan 34,4% menjadi 85% dan 86%.
