Abstract
PT. Bintang kupu – kupu is a company which is focused on Traditional Medicine of China. The high percentage of defect is about 15 % is one of the problem in this company. The top management want to decrease defect is about 2% for prevent of rework, because with the rework can reduce the company,s profit. The purpose of this research is to decrease the defect percentage in PT. bintang Kupu – kupu by using six sigma with tool is DMAIC ( define, measure, analyze, Improve, Control ), with six sigma can be known sigma level of production process in PT. Bintang Kupu – kupu. There are four types of defect that happen based on primary – secondary packaging mapping process at the stage so that it can be known the portion of the defect based on the pareto diagram and can be known the type of defect that will be repaired first, the defect type is leak of sachet, pieces of sachet, physical appearance of sachet, uniformity of sachet weights. The Fault Tree Analysis is used to find the cause of defect which are human, method and machine.There are six method to decrease the higher percentage defect such us : minimum stock spare part of the powder filling machine, the axistence of sachet powder filling machine operators, closes the intensity of the inspection during the process, provide motivation to operators to maintain quality, the improve SOP of powder filling machine. By implementing six ways, it can reduce the defect percentage until can reduce the percentage of defect to less than 2 % and has reached the target with a defect rate average of 0.51 % so it exceed the initial target of top managemet, but it can also increase the level of sigma in the company from level 3.25 to level 4.375. Key word : Quality, Six Sigma, DMAIC, Defect PT. Bintang Kupu – kupu adalah sebuah perusahaan yang fokus pada obat tradisional China. Tingginya persentase cacat sebesar 15 % menjadi salah satu masalah di perusahaan ini. Managemen atas ingin menurunkan persentase cacat hingga 2 % untuk mencegah rework, karena adanya biaya rework dapat menurunkan keuntungan perusahaan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menurunkan cacat produk jadi di PT. Bintang Kupu – kupu dengan menggunakan metode six sigma dengan alat DMAIC ( penetapan, pengukuran, analisa,perbaikan, pengontrolan ). Dengan six sigma dapat diketahui level sigma dari proses produksi di PT. BKK. Ada 4 tipe cacat yang terjadi berdasarkan proses pemetaan pengemasan primer - sekunder pada tahap penetapan sehingga dapat diketahui porsi cacatnya berdasarkan diagram pareto dan dapat diketahui jenis cacat yang akan diperbaiki terlebih dulu, jenis cacatnya yaitu : kebocoran sachet, potongan sachet, Tampilan fisik sachet, Keseragaman bobot sachet. Analisa pohon kesalahan digunakan untuk menemukan penyebab dari cacat yang disebabkan factor manusia, metode dan mesin. Ada 6 cara untuk menurunkan tingginya persentase cacat seperti : Adanya minimum stock spare part mesin filling serbuk sachet, Adanya system TPM, Adanya pelatihan operator untuk setting mesin, Merapatkan intensitas pemeriksaan selama proses, Memberikan motivasi pada operator untuk menjaga kualitas, Memperbaiki SOP mesin filling serbuk. Dengan menerapkan 6 cara tersebut dapat mengurangi angka persentase cacat hingga kurang dari 2 % dan telah mencapai target dengan nilai rata – rata cacat sebesar 0.51 % sehingga melebihi target awal dari managemen atas, selain itu juga dapat meningkatkan level sigma di perusahaan dari levell 3.25 menjadi level 4.375.
