Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine whether there is a relationship between ownership of credit card and impulse buying among PT Mitra Adi Perkasa employee. Research was done by Insidental sampling technique within 238 of participants. The measurement tool in this research is The Impulse Buying Tendency which adapted to Bahasa by two way translation, with reliability coefficient 0.901. The results showed the correlation coefficient value of 0.221 (p ≤ 0.05), meaning there is a significant relationship between ownership of credit card with impulse buying among PT Mitra Adi Perkasa employee, which those who have credit cards are more likely to have impulsive buying behaviour compared to those who do not have a credit card. Keywords: credit card, impulse buying Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara kepemilikan kartu kredit terhadap pembelian impulsif pada karyawan di PT Mitra Adi Perkasa. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik sampling Insidental dengan jumlah subjek sebanyak 238 karyawan. Alat ukur pada penelitian ini adalah The Impulse Buying Tendency Scale dari Verplanken & Herabadi (2001) yang telah diadaptasikan ke Bahasa Indonesia melalui two way translation, dengan koefisien reliabilitas 0.901. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji korelasi dan menunjukkan nilai koefisiensi korelasi r = 0,221 (p ≤ 0.05) artinya ada hubungan yang signifikan antara kepemilikan kartu kredit terhadap pembelian impulsif karyawan PT Mitra Adi Perkasa, dimana mereka yang memiliki kartu kredit lebih cenderung melakukan pembelian impulsif dibandingkan dengan mereka yang tidak memiliki kartu kredit.
