Abstract
Quality improvement becomes the determiner to win the competition in the industrial world. The purpose of this study is to 1) to know the kind of defects and pareto defects in D94D unit, 2) to formulate the steps to reduce defects in the line of blow off and 3) to evaluate the defect fixes on the line of blow off. This study conducts in both qualitative and quantitative. Data collection method is carried out by: looking directly, monitoring, collecting relevant theories, collecting experiment data, and analyzing. The technique of data analysis uses Plan, Do, Check and Action (PDCA). The result of the study shows: 1) the types of defect in line of ed inspection on March-April 2018, they are: ed sagging 85%, ed stain 12% and touching 3%, dominant defect or pareto defect in line of ed inspection is ed sagging defect 85% and DPU of 0,08; 2) the steps to reduce defects in the D94D unit, they are change the working order in the line of blow off, create training schedule for the installation of jig in the line of the blow off and design and implement the jig to withstand the anti-rust fluid, and 3) the evaluation shows improvement of total defect per unit (DPU) before improvement 0,09 becomes 0,01 and the capability process formerly 91% move up to 98% or successful. Kata kunci : Design and implementation of Jig, defect in D94D unit, PDCA Method Perbaikan kualitas menjadi penentu kemenangan dalam persaingan pada dunia industri. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk 1) mengetahui jenis cacat dan pareto cacat pada unit D94D, 2) merumuskan langkah untuk mengurangi cacat pada jalur blow off dan 3) mengevaluasi perbaikan cacat pada jalur blow off. Penelitian termasuk jenis kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan: melihat langsung, memantau, mengumpulkan teori relevan, mengumpulkan data uji coba, dan menganalisa. Teknik analisis data dengan PDCA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan:1) jenis cacat pada jalur Ed Inspection bulan Maret-April 2018 yaitu: Ed Sagging 85 %, Ed Stain 12% dan Touching 3%, cacat dominan atau cacat pareto pada jalur Ed inspection yaitu jenis cacat Ed Sagging sebesar 85 % dan Dpu sebesar 0,08; 2) langkah untuk menurunkan cacat pada unit D94D yaitu merubah urutan kerja pada jalur blow off, membuat schedule training pemasangan jig pada blow off dan merancang dan mengimplementasikan jig untuk menahan cairan anti karat (ED), dan 3) evaluasi menunjukan perbaikan dari total Dpu sebelum perbaikan sebesar 0,09 menjadi 0,01 dan kapabilitas proses yang semula 91% naik menjadi 98% atau berhasil.
