Abstract
ABSTRACT Six sigma is a systematic method for continuous improvement process. The uniqueness of the six sigma method is controlled by a strong understanding of customer needs. In the six sigma implementation there are 5 steps called DMAIC: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control. PT.GMF AeroAsia in this case is one of the world class MRO as well as a subsidiary of PT.Garuda Indonesia, Tbk. which is engaged in maintenance of aircraft. This research focuses on Engine Maintenance unit especially handling HOC case (High Oil Consumption) on aircraft engine, where the amount of oil consumption is 1-2 pint / hour, whereas the amount of oil consumption that is allowed refer to the manual is below 0.8 pint / hour. The sigma level in this process is at 4.56 sigma, for the world-class company level it is necessary to improve. Using the pareto chart and fishbone chart, there are 5 defect that causing the HOC were loose connections (KL) (35.6%), oil blocking (PS) (31.7%), did not use seals on pipelines (TS) (14.9%), not good inspections (TT) (10.4%), incomplete installation of components (TP) (7.4%). By using FMEA (Failure Mode And Effect Analysis) tools the value of RPN (Risk Priority Number) is obtained on the characteristics of oil used damage the seal material, the value of RPN is 108, resulting in damage to seal and clog the channel for oil circulation. Kata Kunci: Six sigma, DMAIC, Pareto Chart, Fishbone, FMEA ABSTRAK Six sigma merupakan sebuah metode yang sistematik untuk melakukan proses perbaikan secara berkesinambungan. Keunikan metode six sigma adalah dikendalikan oleh pemahaman yang kuat terhadap kebutuhan pelanggan. Dalam penerapan six sigma ada 5 langkah yang disebut DMAIC: define, measure, analyze, improve, control. PT.GMF AeroAsia dalam hal ini merupakan salah satu MRO kelas dunia sekaligus anak perusahaan PT.Garuda Indonesia,Tbk. yang bergerak di bidang pemeliharaan dan perawatan pesawat udara. Penelitian ini berfokus pada unit Engine Maintenance khususnya penanganan kasus HOC (High Oil Consumption) pada engine pesawat, dimana jumlah konsumsi oli terjadi sebanyak 1-2 pint/jam, padahal jumlah konsumsi oli yang diperbolehkan mengacu pada buku panduan yaitu dibawah 0,8 pint/jam. Tingkat sigma pada proses ini berada di level 4.56 sigma, dimana untuk level perusahaan kelas dunia hal ini perlu perbaikan. Menggunakan alat diagram pareto dan diagram tulang ikan diketahui 5 jenis defect penyebab HOC yaitu koneksi sambungan yang longgar (KL) (35,6%), penyumbatan pada saluran oli (PS) (31,7%), tidak menggunakan seal pada sambungan pipa (TS) (14.9%), tidak teliti saat pemeriksaan (TT) (10.4%), pemasangan komponen yang tidak sesuai prosedur (TP) (7.4%). Dengan menggunakan FMEA (Failure Mode And Effect Analysis) dapat diketahui nilai RPN (Risk Priority Number) terbesar didapat pada karakteristik oli yang digunakan merusak bahan seal yaitu memperoleh nilai RPN sebesar 108, sehingga berakibat pada rusaknya seal dan menyumbat saluran untuk sirkulasi oli.
