Abstract

PT. Astra Daihatsu Motor is a company which manufacturing for automotive with quite big production capacity which about 30 thousand vehicles per month. In the daily operation commonly face problems like the quality control of their product and problem to keep the product quality consistently. In order to maintain the consistencyof the product quality, there is need to do some effort to increase the company performance and one of the way is using approaching PDCA methode. The goals of the thesis are to maping and destining the most major problem in production process at Assembling Department. Then, doing analysis and improvement for production process to decrease Defect Per Unit (DPU) product of Assembling Department. Therefore, benefite of quality control for quality cost can be calculated. Writer using PDCA tools or Plan-Do-Check-Action as approaching problem solving methode to decrease product’s defects from the result of Assembling production process. The thesis result shows that PT. Astra Daihatsu Motor have 3 major defects which caused DPU Assembling process in 2009 become high. They are AC buble for function defect, rocker panel Lh dent for appearanc defect and quarter glass Lh leak for leakage defect. From 3 defects, after due consideration from occurance frequency, time for repairing defect and also concentration of process area, then with matrix table problems we gote that quarter glass Lh leak is the most urgent problem to be solved. The company operation neeed to do some effort for improving, to achieve the goals reduce defect production process. To achieve zero defect production process, the company have to do continually improvement which implement PDCA cycle for each improvement process.PT. Astra Daihatsu Motor merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak pada bidang otomotif yang cukup besar dengan kapasitas produksi sekitar 30 ribu unit mobil per bulan.Dalam pengoperasiannya perusahaan tentunya tidak lepas dari masalah-masalah pengendalian kualitas produk dan menjaga konsistensi dari kualitas produk mereka. Dalam rangka menjaga konsistensi mutu suatu produk maka perlu dilakukan suatu usaha untuk meningkatkan performa dari perusahaan dimana salah satunya dengan metode PDCA. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memetakan dan menentukan problem paling utama dalam proses produksi di Departemen Assembling. Kemudian melakukan analisis dan perbaikan proses produksi untuk menurunkan Defect Per Unit (DPU) produk hasil proses produksi Departemen Assembling. Sehingga dapat pula diukur keuntungan hasil pengendalian mutu terhadap biaya kualitas. Penulis menggunakan perangkat PDCA atau Plan-Do-Check-Action sebagai pendekatan metode penyelesaian masalah guna dapat mengurangi cacat (defect) produk dari hasil proses produksi Departemen Assembling. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa PT. Astra Daihatsu Motor memiliki 3 defect utama yang menyebabkan tingginya nilai DPU proses Assembling tahun 2009. Yakni, AC buble untuk katagori defect function, rocker panel Lh pecok untuk katagori defect appearanc, dan quarter glass Lh bocor untuk katagori defect leakage. Dari ketiga defect utama tersebut, setelah dipertimbangkan dari sisi frekuensi kejadian, lama proses perbaikan serta konsentraisi area prosesnya, maka dengan matrik pembobotan problem diperoleh bahwa quarter glass Lh bocor paling urgen untuk segera diselesaikan. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan perbaikan didalam operasional perusahaan agar dapat menghilangkan defect proses produksi. Untuk mencapai zero defect proses produksi, perusahaan harus melakukan perbaikan secara terus-menerus yakni dengan menerapkan siklus PDCA untuk setiap proses perbaikan.
