Abstract

The title of this research is about the PKS (Partai Keadilan Sejahtera) representation in the case of imported cattle on Tempo magazine, which using a Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis of Tempo magazine cover issue of February 4-10 February 2013 and 11-17 February 2013. The purpose of this study is to determine the meaning of denotation representation of the PKS (Partai Keadilan Sejahtera) in bribery case imported cow on the cover of Tempo magazine. To know the connotations representation in the case of PKS imported cow on the cover of Tempo magazine. To find out the meaning of the myth representation in the case of PKS imported cow on the cover of Tempo magazine. The research method that I use is the semiotic method with qualitative approaches and paradigms that I use is a critical paradigm. The author uses critical paradigm because the author saw something hidden behind the display packaging are featured in Tempo magazine. Theories used by researcher is the theory of the political economic media and the critical theory of Jurgen Habermas, while the analysis of the data that I use is Rolland Barthes' semiotic analysis. The object of my research is Tempo Magazine edition 4-10 February 2013 and edition 11-17 February 2013. Based on the results of research by the author on the cover of issue 10-14 February 2013 and 11-17 February 2013, which reviewed and analyzed by Roland Barthes Semiotics Analysis can be concluded that the combination of Tempo magazine writing many plays, symbols, logos or images are representations of object PKS involved in the bribery case of imported cow.
