Abstract
This research examines camera design for the short film "Cinta Yang Tak Lagi Pulang" through the application of 5C Cinematography theory (Camera Angle, Continuity, Close-up, Composition, Cutting) developed by Joseph V. Mascelli. The film explores stereotypes and social value conflicts between urban and rural communities through a love story between two main characters, Raka and Sarasnita, whose relationship is hindered by differing backgrounds and family expectations. The research problems focus on how the 5C technique is implemented in each key scene, how the cinematographer's audiovisual choices contribute to conveying the story's message, and why applying these techniques effectively builds emotional closeness with viewers. The design method covers pre-production through storyboard and shotlist creation, production through filming guided by the director, and post-production through delivering camera reports to the editor. Technical aspects applied include lens selection (fixed, zoom, wide, and telephoto), three-point lighting techniques (key light, fill light, back light), and various camera movements such as pan, tilt, dolly, and tracking to strengthen the story's emotional nuance. The design outcome is expected to serve as an academic reference for Broadcasting students in producing short films using cinematographic techniques that effectively convey social messages and evoke viewers' emotions. Keywords: cinematography, camera design, 5C technique, short film, stereotype Penelitian ini membahas perancangan tata kamera pada film pendek "Cinta Yang Tak Lagi Pulang" dengan menerapkan teori 5C Cinematography (Camera Angle, Continuity, Close-up, Composition, Cutting) yang dikembangkan oleh Joseph V. Mascelli.
