Abstract
Film is an audiovisual communication medium that conveys messages, ideas, and life realities through engaging storytelling. In the filmmaking process, the scriptwriter plays a vital role in creating and developing the story that serves as the foundation for all stages of production. This final project report aims to describe the author's creative process as the scriptwriter in the production of the short film Sampai Pada Akhirnya. The creative process consisted of three main stages: pre-production, production, and post-production. During pre-production, the author developed the story idea through research, prepared the premise, synopsis, treatment, three-act structure, screenplay, and revised the script based on discussions with the director and production team. During production, the author ensured that the filming process remained consistent with the screenplay while making necessary adjustments to accommodate field conditions. In the post-production stage, the author evaluated the final film to ensure that the storyline, dialogue, and overall message remained aligned with the original concept. The results of this creative project demonstrate that the role of a scriptwriter extends beyond screenplay writing. A scriptwriter is also responsible for maintaining story continuity and ensuring that the intended message is consistently delivered throughout the production process. Through Sampai Pada Akhirnya, the author successfully conveys the values of perseverance in pursuing dreams, compassion for others, and the meaning of life's struggles behind a person's smile. Keywords: Scriptwriter, Short Film, Screenplay Writing, Sampai Pada Akhirnya Film merupakan media komunikasi audio visual yang mampu menyampaikan pesan, gagasan, serta realitas kehidupan melalui rangkaian cerita yang dikemas secara menarik. Dalam proses produksi film, scriptwriter memiliki peran penting sebagai pencipta dan pengembang cerita yang menjadi dasar pelaksanaan seluruh tahapan produksi. Laporan penciptaan karya ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses kreatif penulis sebagai scriptwriter dalam produksi film pendek Sampai Pada Akhirnya. Dalam proses penciptaan karya, penulis menerapkan tahapan produksi yang meliputi praproduksi, produksi, dan pascaproduksi. Pada tahap praproduksi, penulis melakukan pengembangan ide cerita, riset, penyusunan premis, sinopsis, treatment, struktur tiga babak, penulisan naskah, hingga revisi berdasarkan hasil diskusi bersama sutradara dan tim produksi. Pada tahap produksi, penulis berperan memastikan kesesuaian jalannya proses pengambilan gambar dengan naskah serta melakukan penyesuaian apabila terdapat perubahan di lapangan. Selanjutnya pada tahap pascaproduksi, penulis melakukan evaluasi terhadap hasil akhir film guna memastikan cerita, dialog, dan penyampaian pesan tetap sesuai dengan konsep yang telah dirancang Hasil penciptaan karya menunjukkan bahwa peran scriptwriter tidak hanya berfokus pada penulisan naskah, tetapi juga berperan aktif dalam menjaga kesinambungan cerita selama proses produksi hingga pascaproduksi. Melalui film Sampai Pada Akhirnya, penulis berhasil menyampaikan pesan mengenai pentingnya semangat dalam meraih impian, kepedulian terhadap sesama, serta makna perjuangan hidup di balik senyuman yang ditampilkan seseorang.
