Abstract
The documentary film "Nilai Palsu" (Fake Grades) addresses the crisis of academic integrity, specifically the phenomenon of academic ghostwriting services, or "assignment jockeys," which is increasingly prevalent among university students. This project aims to uncover the reality behind these practices and highlight their impact on the essence of education. This creative report specifically focuses on the role of the Cameraman in translating this phenomenon into a visual language that is both impactful and ensures the safety of the sources. During the production process, the author, acting as the Cameraman, implemented an observationalreflective visual approach. To maintain the confidentiality of the sources' identities, the author utilized silhouette lighting techniques with dominant red tones, which simultaneously built a tense atmosphere and symbolized a moral crisis. Furthermore, the cinematography relied heavily on Close-Up (CU) and Extreme Close-Up (ECU) shots to capture the intricate details of the sources' activities, thereby establishing emotional proximity with the audience despite the challenges of low-light conditions on location. Through deliberate visual execution, the moral message regarding the importance of academic integrity is powerfully conveyed without being patronizing. This documentary is expected to raise awareness among the audience, particularly students, regarding the negative impacts of academic dishonesty and encourage a return to the values of honesty within the educational environment. Film dokumenter "Nilai Palsu" mengangkat isu krisis kejujuran akademik, khususnya fenomena joki tugas yang semakin marak di kalangan mahasiswa. Pembuatan karya ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap realitas di balik praktik tersebut dan menyoroti dampaknya terhadap esensi pendidikan. Laporan penciptaan karya ini secara khusus berfokus pada peran Penata Kamera dalam menerjemahkan fenomena tersebut ke dalam bahasa visual yang tepat dan aman bagi narasumber. Dalam proses produksinya, penulis selaku Penata Kamera menerapkan pendekatan visual observasional-reflektif. Untuk menjaga kerahasiaan identitas pelaku joki tugas, penulis menggunakan teknik pencahayaan siluet dengan dominasi warna merah, yang sekaligus berfungsi untuk membangun suasana tegang dan menyimbolkan krisis moral. Selain itu, pengambilan gambar didominasi oleh ukuran Close-Up (CU) dan Extreme Close-Up (ECU) untuk menangkap detail aktivitas narasumber, sehingga mampu membangun kedekatan emosi (proximity) dengan penonton meskipun harus berhadapan dengan kendala minim cahaya di lokasi. Melalui eksekusi visual yang terencana, pesan moral mengenai pentingnya integritas akademik dapat tersampaikan dengan kuat tanpa harus menggurui. Film dokumenter ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kesadaran audiens, khususnya para mahasiswa, akan dampak buruk dari praktik joki tugas serta mendorong kembalinya nilai kejujuran di lingkungan pendidikan.
