Abstract
Instagram is one of the most widely used social media platforms, and the phenomenon of second accounts has emerged as a more safer space for self-expression, particularly for individuals with anxiety tendencies. This study aimed to examine the relationship between intimate friendship and self-disclosure among second account Instagram users with moderate to extremely severe levels of anxiety. The sample consisted of 156 respondents selected using the Anxiety dimension of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-21). Intimate friendship was measured using the Intimate Friendship Scale (IFS), while self-disclosure was assessed using the Revised Self-Disclosure Scale (RSDS). This study employed a quantitative correlational design, and data were analyzed using Spearman’s Rho correlation due to non-normal data distribution. The results indicated a significant negative relationship with weak to moderate correlation strength between intimate friendship and self-disclosure. These findings suggest that higher levels of intimate friendship are associated with lower levels of self-disclosure among second account Instagram users with anxiety, and therefore, the research hypothesis stating that a relationship exists between the two variables was accepted. Keywords: intimate friendship, self-disclosure, anxiety, second Instagram account Instagram merupakan media sosial dengan jumlah pengguna yang tinggi, dan fenomena second account dimanfaatkan sebagai ruang ekspresi diri yang lebih aman, khususnya bagi individu dengan kecenderungan kecemasan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara intimate friendship dan self-disclosure pada pengguna second account Instagram dengan tingkat kecemasan sedang hingga sangat berat. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 156 responden yang diseleksi menggunakan Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-21) pada dimensi kecemasan. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Intimate Friendship Scale (IFS) dan Revised Self-Disclosure Scale (RSDS). Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelasional dengan uji korelasi Spearman Rho karena data tidak berdistribusi normal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan signifikan dengan arah negatif dan kekuatan korelasi lemah hingga sedang antara intimate friendship dan self-disclosure, sehingga hipotesis penelitian yang menyatakan terdapat hubungan antara kedua variabel diterima.
